Lie angle?

playing honma TW74p irons stock. I am 5'4" with a 31-31.5 wtf and fighting with an aggressive in to out path that will either result in a nice draw or a right push. My wedges is can hit straight all day. Would changing the length or lies of my iron help at all? Not sure if my body is trying to compensate lie and length with the irons. Photo is 30ish shots with my 8i for example at 36.75" on a 62* lie, 33* loft

Thanks for sharing / asking. One question- for your wedges, I’m assuming you are hitting full shots straight? Or more pitches / chips?

Get a good fitting, to see where your contacting the ball on the clubface.

Interesting. My T100 8i length is 36.50, 38 loft, and 63 lie, and I am 5'10. Eight iron is 63.5' stock lie, but I have all my irons .5' flat. I see Lie as affecting where I impact the ball on the club face, and I hit the ball straight or baby draw.

I am not a fitter/instructor; you're 5'4, your club is longer than mine, and your lie is 1' different from mine and 8i has 3MM offset has to effect downrange. Have you tried choking down an 1"? I choke down 1/2' on all clubs.

A couple things:

1 Is your strike pattern consistent, and if so is it more towards the toe or center

2 Have you tested your lie angle using a line drawn on the ball and checking the angle of the line left on the face

I dont know how much a lie angle will correct a path that is 10 degrees in/out. I would suspect though if youre playing standard length clubs at 5'4 then you could definitely be swinging more around your body so you dont have to standup or raise the handle through impact i would start with club length before fitting for lie angle

The image shown in the first post of this thread shows a push. A push is a push, and has nothing to do with lie angle.

If your shot leaves straight, then drifts right or left, then a discussion about lie angle may be appropriate.

The good news is his clubface and path are close to each other.
