For your cars, watches, literally anything else you don’t judge aesthetics? Of course you do.

Interesting. T100 and BPS I also really like feel-wise (not much "better" than i230, but different), but I'd pick i230 > P770 every day of the week

Fair enough, for me the i230s felt dead and harsher vs the p770s. But again, my money went to the i230s. Every fourth round or so my swing decides to explore the entire face of the iron…

I don't love the look but I don't hate it either.

They have an Ei1 look about them which I don't mind, as for me, the Ei was one of the best performing along with the i20's. I've had all except i25's since the i15's.

I'll most likely stay with my 230's as I've finally got them them where I want them with a 1° decrease in loft from Power specs, which gives me a touch more offset and a touch less bounce. I've really loved all the i series except the i10's which were awful.

I certainly will try them.

Not sure about the shape of the toe, it appears a little more pointed than 210's and 230's. That is my biggest concern. I really dont want a smaller footprint.

The look of the back never concerns me, its totally performance based for me, but then again I play for a living.

No one is saying they suck, people are saying they look tacky.

The blueprints on the other hand a beautiful and perform. Some people want both from a premium set of irons.

That should be understandable, aesthetics are important to some people. Most of WRX it seems.

GolfWRXers are in the minority when it comes to the golfing public.

For reference I230 had a steel rear badge.  The carbon badge on the I240 isn’t exactly attractive but it’s there for a reason, as stated earlier, moving 8 grams of mass from high in the head to somewhere lower.  Could Ping have done a better job of hiding the carbon, sure but most manufacturers like to display their tech, not hide it.

Driver:  Ping G440 LST 9* Tour 2.0 Black 65X

Fairway:  Ping G430 Max 3 14* Tour 2.0 Black 75X

Fairway:  Ping G430 Max 7 20* Tour 2.0 Black 75X

Irons:  Titleist T100 4-GW X100

Wedges: Ping Glide 4.0 54 & 58 Modus 125W

Putter: LAB Link.1

Ball: Titleist Pro V1X

My guess the carbon up to is to help lower the CG. Ping irons have had higher CGs in the past compared to other irons. May help with those thin shots and keep the spin down for those that spun the i230s too much. Seems like there was an abundance of power spec users for that reason.

GolfWRX is just a microcosm of the regular golfing community. Everyone I know gets fit for their clubs and cares about what their bag and equipment looks like.  The munis in my area are packed with people with GFORE/ Vessel golf bags and custom club head covers. They don’t all have good taste but they clearly care. To assume the golfing community will base their decision solely on performance and not appearance is an error. I don’t see a lot of people playing Ping at my club to begin with and I don’t anticipate seeing many playing this iron in the future.

wow those are so ugly.... Ping loves their badges on backs of irons. It would look so much cleaner and higher end if it did not have that badge. Anyways to me looks like they have less bounce in this years version, maybe the "Hovland" effect?

I look at the Ping Blueprint S and then I look at these and I can't believe that they are the same design team

LOL.  It has been less than one week.  Rare for there to be quick adoption of a new club.  Especially mid-season.

GolfWRX has the highest concentration of golfers with 175 mph clubhead speed with a wedge of any place on the planet. OEMs make XXX-stiff shafts only for those on this site.

This is  funny because it’s true. I love this site and often read it to fuel my owe curiosity. But it really jumps off the page when I see so many folks on this site cruising with 117mph driver club head speed. &nbsp

I really like reading about shafts. My driver club head speed any given day is 110, and I feel whole inadequate after spending 30 min reading threads 😂

Agreed...but likely the staffers have been testing for months.  Saw in another thread that the Ping tour van is at the US Women's Open, so we might see more info there first, while on the PGA perhaps the Canadian Open next week or the US Open the following.  Doubt any staffers make a change prior to the major, so maybe just post Oakmont.

More women have the i230 in the bags, than the BPS. I would bet there will be some i240s in the womens bags this week.

Per Ping's website, the i230 is sold out with limited availability for replacement of single irons only.

Maybe the brilliance here is they found a way to sell out their entire inventory of a 2 year old club in less than 48 hours? Genius!

Perhaps next week, they unveil the actual i240?

Looked like Conners is testing a long iron.

With BPS I don’t see many of the men adding full sets. Probably more in LPGA.

I look at this club (or any club) like NFL QB’s…if it will help the player/coach win they will put them in play in heartbeat regardless of looks.

I don’t think anyone would put new irons in the bag for a major. But no doubt they will be showing up in bags soon.

I will never understand how the back of an iron can instantly cause the these irons suck parade. Hit them and then tell us they suck.

I don't think anyone in the thread has decreed that the irons suck from a performance perspective.   It's the appearance that's being questioned.

If they're game changers in their category of course they'll sell well.   But there are plenty of good clubs out there and it usually comes down to tradeoffs among performance aspects.   When those are very close, price and/or aesthetics tend to be the deciding factor.
