All the complaining about the carbon leads me to believe the use of lead tape for aesthetics has become a lost concept.

Agree with the poster upthread who basically said, 'I'm a Ping guy who's not normally about aesthetics, but those are ugly.'

I’ve been playing the i210 since release, sent back the 8 for a defect in the finish and now the 5 iron as the cushion fell out. Ping has been nothing but fantastic to deal with, even replacing all the shafts once for free w/ grips due to some pitting in them.
 

I’ve been waiting for these and it’s not what I expected but I will be trying them for sure !

Completely bucking the trend from Titleist and Taylormade to go away from a clean minimalist design 

 

I’m sure they work great but imo the i200 was the peak aesthetic from this series of irons 

 

I also way prefer Iblade to blueprint s design wise so go figure

I’m sure they are a great club, it’s just I’m sure they are coming in at a “premium” price point and the carbon piece just give big box set vibes. Makes them look a little cheap

PING is traveling back in time and there will be a tumbled set with no ferrule in a few years time!  Just joking, but kinda hopeful.

Tons of offset, cheap looking “badge” w/faux carbon straight form 2003… This is WRX. I’d be more surprised if they weren’t getting the hate. Good or bad, that’s just how it is here. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The comments about WRX members being quick to hate are interesting... 

 

This crew is opinionated, but not unreasonable. The Titleist irons released last week received lots of love from the same members.

I've always been a fan of this iron (owned a set of I210s) and I like the improvements at address. Not a fan of the carbon, but to each their own.

If they didn't have exposed carbon and the had a black "i", I'd love these, but ughhh. I love the i2xx series but these look ughhh. I really hope they knock it outta the park on performance.

 

Why not just keep it clean looking PING? You did so well with iBlade, OG Blueprint, i59, Blueprint S/T, i210, i230.

Ping is absolutely an awesome company. I sent my i230s to them to be re-shafted from Modus 105 to 115 and they came back absolutely perfect. But these 240s? I'm not sure what they're going for here.

The problem with Ping is they show wear fast. I see so many i210 sets with browning on the faces. I'd love to find a mint set.

Comparing these next to the new T250s makes me want to cry. I really want to love the 240's, but man ping, you caught me off guard.
