Not sure why you are trying to water down the buyer's actions here. The buyer forced the seller's hand by saying he would refuse the package, simply because he was upset at the delivery time.

 

Buyer: "...At this point I am frustrated with this dealing and will either refuse the delivery or send it back to you for full refund. 

"why don't you call UPS tomorrow and ask them to send it back to you or alternatively I will refuse to pick it up and UPS will send it back to you."

He the buyer gave him the option to send the club back for a refund on the 20th, 4 days before the emails you snipped above.

Sorry, I see that now. Either way, seller was going above and beyond at that point.

 

He didn't owe him a refund.

 

But, point taken. 

 

P.S. I'm not policing the entire thread and shooing people away like this is a crime scene and I'm a cop, just responding to your post 😄

Look the shipping a day later than stated isnt the real issue in my mind. If im the buyer and I find out WHY it was late, because seller didnt even have it in posession, and a buddy was testing it, I certainly can understand wanting to back out at that point. And its not even because the buddy had it, its because the seller lacked transparency in the first place. AND still has credibility issues IMO, i still dont understand the whole headcover story.

I think I’ve been as transparent as I possibly can throughout this process and owned my mistakes. It’s clear I’m not going to convince you and that’s okay - you’re entitled to your opinion. 
 

No update from the buyer on refusing or accepting then returning the package with my shipping label. The head is still sitting at the UPS store.
 

Looking more and more like UPS is going to return to sender without buyer participation. I’m indifferent how it comes back, just seems like if he bought another head he would want his money back ASAP.

So the buyer @James Ng claims to live within a 5 minute walk of the UPS location they’re holding this head at but he doesn’t have the decency or integrity to walk 5 minutes over there, refuse the package, and put this whole thing to rest?  Yeah, good luck doing business with this guy in the future. He’s solid ignore list material for me.

100% agree.  Buyers actions are clearly out of spite for the perceived failures of the seller.

Buyer emailed on Saturday mentioning that he stopped the the UPS store that day and refused the package but UPS said the earliest it could be processed is June 3rd (today). He said he couldn't make it to the store in time during the week before it closed. I would think it could be processed on Monday, but it sounds like UPS is going the return to sender route instead of processing it immediately (perhaps it's easier for the store, idk). 

 

Expecting it to make it's way back to me today or tomorrow. Once I see it's on it's way and/or UPS comes calling for payment to return, I'll return funds as I mentioned.

I've just left negative feedback. I expect I will receive negative feedback in return which is why I've been (selfishly) debating providing it in the first place, but agree I have an obligation to do so. I linked this thread in the feedback (and mentioned I made my own mistakes in the transaction). I can address it in any future selling ads if it becomes a sticking point.

Thanks for the update @LafertyDaniel - looks like the buyer to refuse, wasn’t allowed, and communicated expectations after that.  Communication is improving in both sides so that’s a plus!

 

All the nonsense about out of spite, was just nonsense.

Received confirmation from the buyer (via forwarded UPS message) that the package was being returned by UPS so have promptly processed the refund:

 

 

(the date above is a little misleading, but if you check the original tracking it shows it's being returned to sender as of today).
