How Many Major Championships will Scottie Scheffler Win?

I've seen a lot of wild predictions for Scottie here on WRX... including a poster recently that said he'd win more Major Championships than Tiger.

 

If you had to guess the number of Majors that he'll end his career with, what would it be? Please vote in the Poll and comment your prediction as well.

 

Bonus points if you can correctly predict which ones he'll win.

I think he wins 5 more for a total of 8 Majors. A tie with Tom Watson for 6th / 7th of All-Time.

 

4 Masters, 2 US Open, and 2 PGA. I don't think he'll win an Open Championship and get the Career Grand Slam.

Been a member here since 2007 when I was a sophomore in high school and now I'm 34 years old so I think I'll still be around haha

6.5 is my line for him. GolfWRX loves to hand out majors left/right. I think he does get the career slam and maybe another Masters. Scottie's Open Championship record isn't great but it isn't bad; T8-T21-T23-T7 and he was T5 going into Sunday in 2022 and just shot a bad 74 on Sunday. Scottie is a really good US Open player and could've won Brookline very easily.

Most players have a window where they do 80% or so of their winning. Very few guys can extend that over 10-15 years. I would say that he gets to 6. DJ kind of has the career of what most elite players experience (especially if you throw the two US Opens, he should have won). A player that has 20 wins and 4 majors would be a guy that is remembered by most fans.

6 with the same reasoning as some of the previous commenters. When someone is at the top it's easy to see them win a bunch but longevity at the very top is not a given.

 

Really hoping to see him get The Open though.

8. I hesitated to go past 6 as I struggle to put him ahead of Faldo in terms of guys I've watched, but with the run he's on/lack of depth of serious competition he could get to 5/6 in a hurry by the end of next season and from there it's 'only' a couple more.

 

I'll go with the following breakdown of those 8:

 

3 x Masters

3 x PGA

2 x US Open

0 x The Open

Scottie is such a creative player it's hard to see him not becoming a great Open player.  I'd be shocked if he doesn't win an Open.

100%. I actually thought he'd win last year when he was 2 back going into Sunday but Xander shot 65 on sunday.
