Nippon Modus 105 in a Hybrid?

Looking for ultimate control with my hybrid and was debating trying a lighter weight steel shaft in it. Has anyone tried Nippon Modus 105 in a hybrid? If so, any thoughts? I play Modus 115 in my irons and figured it would be a similar profile for consistency. Thanks.

I play a steel KBS hybrid shaft in my Ping G425 hybrid. This combo works very well for me.
Is the hybrid having an adapter for changing shafts? In this case I would go for it with no worries. Otherwise it is a bit more work to be done with pulling the old shaft and re-assemble with the new one.

If it's a good fit in your irons, no reason not to think it might work in the hybrids.

Can't say for sure but from what I've read I don't think the 105 and 115 share a similar profile.

Just don't expect "ultimate control" just because it's made of steel. The heavier weight might help with control but it's a relatively soft shaft for it's flex so unless that type of stiffness feel works for you really well, don't expect that to automatically help. But weight does tend to me more important than stiffness for most anyways so that might be enough in itself to possibly see some improvements with it.

I had a Modus 105 in a 23° Adams Pro mini, and it was a great combo for me, but I was swayed by others to change to graphite, in order to hit some arbitrary weight progression numbers throughout my set which really has no benefit other than looking pretty a paper spread sheet since I played Modus 105’s in my irons

I must have been through 5 or 6 graphite shafts before I found something it’s equal

if you like your Modus 115, then why not just go with that?

I played (and currently play) my hybrids at the same playing length of the corresponding iron it replaced, since the two most important things for me with those clubs are dispersion and distance controlled gapping as an iron replacement

I personally would see the NS Pro 950 more as a potencial hybrid shaft. light and stiff...

I am pretty sure the GOST is designed off the Modus 105/125 profiles just in a lighter weight. They aren't cheap but you may want to try the GOST in your flex of choice and see how it performs.

Play 115s and put 115 in a hybrid. I do not get along with 105s as well as the 115s. YMMV

When I was playing DG and similar weight steel, I assembled a DG shaft in an adapter to use in a hybrid. Worked amazingly well.

I've been using stock hybrid shafts for a bit, but about to return to the above concept. Planning on assembling a Modus 120 shaft in a hybrid adapter for use with my iron set that will have Modus 120 shafts.

I play a c taper lite in a 4 hybrid. Shaft was from a 2 driving iron. Feels great. .355 tip, used a shim.

Interesting. Did you find the 105 different? I was going to do 105 because it seems like it comes in .370 to fit the hybrid. I didnt see the 115 offered in .370.

Also, if I am trying steel in a 3-hybrid, would I try a 3-iron shaft? Or a 2-iron shaft?

The 3 hybrid head weight is about 234g for reference.

Myself and others find the 115 and 105 slightly different in profile. Similar, but not exact. YMMV. I tend to get quick with 105s. 105x soft stepped twice seems more in line for 115s (for my specific situation).

Will need to shim the 115 to fit most hybrids. I ended up with an older hybrid with .355 bore.
