He went from GT3 to GT2 and sleeve at D4, and now switching shaft profile.  Big change from DBB to Ventus Black.  My guess, he should find more fairways with GT2, D4 and V.Black

It’s going to be interesting to see if it’ll have any impact on his consistency.

He has played the GT2 head for a while now, and he had (has?) the Ventus black in his TM burner mini, so he must have enjoyed that profile and it must have done well in testing to bring it to the US Open. I suspect it will tighten things up a bit for him now he has added a bit of speed

It's a "Tour Issue" sticker so will only have a positive effect on the driver.

Also note that it’s slight smaller than all the other oems tour issue stickers.  Looks really great behind the ball.

And possible drop in ball speed with the Velo+ black but accuracy is way more important this week than any other week on the schedule with the 5 inch rough.  Might pay off come Sunday afternoon.

Based on the golf that I watched yesterday JT had another horrific round in a major and played more like a 12 capper at times hacking his way up several holes, just like Rory in recent tournaments JT has just lost his game and neither player could hit a 100 yard wide fairway irrespective of which driver and shaft combo they play, statistically JT and Rory both hit 50% of the fairways yesterday but it sure never looked that way.
