Classic Phil bag...long gone are the original Ventus Red and now GD VF fully represented. Full complement of Ping woods with g430 Max in ALL fairway woods. This is actually a very uncomplicated lineup !!

Yes, I love it, the way he slots into a narrow slice of the generation gap. Part of him is modern-day gear head, always looking for any slight edge through the newest technologies; and part of him is the oldest of Trevino-type old school, slapping lead tape on the back of wedges with hand written lofts and using a putter style in vogue when Arnold Palmer was winning his first Masters!

The 60* just blows my mind.  He obviously knows what works for him, but it look to have like 2" of offset lol.  I'm also surprised to see so many Ping fairways throughout all the WITB pictures, they just always seem so high/floaty/spinny to me, but they must know what they're looking for.

He was briefly in the Ventus black and Diamana BB and now in the AD VF.  Sad to hear that this will probably be his last US Open.
