B RX vs Callaway Chrome Tour

Recommended Posts

Everything has pointed me to the B RX which is a really good ball, But I'm confused. I switched from the CT which is another really good Ball, for me I believe it's longer through the bag and has more Green side spin than the RX. My driver SS is around 92. My 8i is around 135 normal conditions and yesterday I hit the exact Yardage calm and flushed it and it just fell out of sky 5yds short of green?? I believe it has to do with the 65 compression of the RX being too soft for me.

There must be something else going on... I've switched from BX to BRX mid round and didn't notice any difference between those two balls other than the BRX feeling a tiny bit softer.  Maybe on a launch monitor I could see some small differences, but for my game (I'm about a 5 right now and driver SS 105+) their on course performance is the same.

Well another thing it possibly could be is the RX spins more off driver and irons, That 8i I flushed yesterday with RX, I felt absolutely nothing it felt like air. That I do not like at all. It was right at pin and we all thought it was all over it and it fell Approx 125 instead of my normal 135. It was actually best shot I hit all day. Then last hole with CT from same 135 distance I hit 8i and stuck it 5ft and birdied. Something definitely between those balls for me

I’m a 95ss player that used the rx because that’s my swing speed category.

I don’t thing there is a comparison vs chrome tour. For me the chrome tour is by far the better balls for: distance, feel, spin and flight in wind.

ballnamics suggest it for me. I picked up a sleeve to test and how I have four boxes of the stuff from the sales.

edit: just to add to this i think the Bridgestone ball to play for most people is the x.

The RX ball was flat for me.  Wasn't aware of its compression at the time, so just checked, it's 75.   That for me, is too soft, didn't take direction well either. 🤯

LOL  Chrome Tour is 85, a more solid and better ball, having played it awhile before switching to the new ProV1 (90) and AVX is 80.

i don't really think it's the ball.  I have a similar swing speed to you and hit my 8i around 145-150.  It goes that far with prov1 and the BRX.  Haven't tried the chrome tour for full disclosure but getting a vastly different outcome seems like maybe something else on that swing.

You have a 92 Driver SS but you hit 8i 150? 🤔My normal 8i is around 135 and that's right in line with about how far I should hit. But the RX is always short of that but the CT is around 135 and so are other balls. I am a sweeper which does cause me to probably add dynamic loft and spin ball more. I'm sure due to that I may be leaving 5yds on the table. But noway with I could hit a 8i 150 with my style

You two might be comparing carry vs total. Of course it depends on loft etc etc but I can't see someone with a 92 SS smoking their 34 degree (Elyte) 8 iron 150 carry unless they are really holding back when hitting driver. The released trackman numbers shows pros hitting their 8 at 160 carry for whatever that data is worth.

Exactly when I stated 135 for my 8i I'm speaking Carry in Normal conditions. My driver SS is 92 and my driver is around 230-235.

I hit the BRX, my preferred ball, about 5 yards longer than the Chrome Tour.  87mph 7 iron which flies 170 yards.  My other preferred ball, the AVX, goes the same distance with a lower ball flight.
