Interestingly ... I leave my clubs in the car 365 days of the year, and I live in Iowa. Our temps bounce between -30 and 110. Never had a problem with epoxy on heads.

Same, but Texas. I think if clubs can be harmed in the vehicle, it would happen down here. I've never had issues with leaving clubs in the backseat of the truck over 18+ years

Brampton's is halfway to my home golf course!  If it failed I'd bring it to them to see if I made a mistake with their epoxy.

Their web site says they continue to develop new products so presumably they can analyze what went wrong.

He didn’t use Bramptons on the failed set.   It was some unknown non golf specific epoxy.  He’s redone them with Bramptons.

Something similar I did a couple years ago before a round the next day, used Brampton's but just went too fast and did not mix in proper ratio on a brand new driver shaft I wanted to play.  I hit the driving range first thing and the head flew 30 yards out into the range.  I had to ask everyone to stop hitting so I could go get the head, that got some chuckles.  Luckily, being the WRX'r that I am, I had a second shaft with me so still got to hit driver.

No I don't think leaving them in the care is a problem but....

Epoxy formulations can certainly get that high but most golf epoxies is between 180* F and 250* F - at least the ones I've worked with are in that range.   Some of the 5 minute epoxy can even be as low as 155*-170* F.   And if you think about it, you don't really want it any higher than about 210*-220*.  The higher the glass temp, the bigger chance you have of destroying graphite shafts when you pull them.  You want the adhesive epoxy glass temp well below that of the epoxies used in the shafts themselves.   Maybe that's what you read about, the break down temp of the epoxies used in the shaft construction?

I have no idea if it was the epoxy used in the shaft construction or the epoxy used in building clubs I was reading about. I was pretty sure Brampton's 24 hour is a 250* breakdown from what I remember and also remember someone from Mitchell saying most 24 hour epoxies are 250*. Golfworks says their High-Impact is 350*, now that could be a miss-type by Golfworks and meant to hit 250.  I did find the MSDS for the their High-Impact and I only found the flash point of 300 and boiling point for one part is 149*C(roughly 300*F) and the other part is not available.  So 350 could be correct, but I don't know enough about Flash points, boiling temps to extrapolate or take a stab at break down temp.

I do remember asking Dana because there was a post on 4GEA about leaving your clubs in the car and epoxy breaking down.  He laughed and said, nope not even in Arizona or Nevada. More than likely it was poor prep to begin with because they thought proper prep was overkill and didn't want to blame themselves. He said it was amazing how many people think it is just pulling a shaft and gluing a new shaft in, and because they think that it is just that easy, they look for other things to blame than their poor prep.

That's usually referring to the properties of the uncured products - for industrial storage and transportation safety considerations.

The only spec that you want to find is the Glass Transition Temperature  (Tg).  Unfortunately something that's not required on the Safety Data Sheet so can be hard to find.

Yes, I saw that in the Q+A.  But then I've seen a lot of answers in their Q+A that are just plain wrong before so also not sure how trust-worthy that value might be or if they even know what spec to look for in the data sheets.

I agree 100%.  There may have been a time in the past it could be problematic to leave in a hot car, but not really the case anymore - at least as long as some random hardware store 5-min epoxy is not used.

FYI - I got curious so I emailed Brampton - this is what I got back.

ProFix Rapid Cure (10 minute cure) -  Tg is 158* F  (lap sheer 3100 PSI)

ProFix Quick Cure (30 minute cure) - Tg is 176* F  (lap sheer 3200 PSI)

ProFix Long Cure (24 hour) -               Tg is 179.6* F  (lap sheer 3800 PSI)

All's well that ends well.  Went for a fitting at PGA Superstore - a friend works there, waived the fitting fee.  I was going to Club Champion but call me cheap - after spending close to $1K for driver fitting, (and happy with that!) Just couldn't pull the trigger again for irons there.  PGA experience worked just fine.  Ended up with new Wilson Dynapower iron's - Recoil Dart 65A shafts.

First swing today with 8-iron on a par 3 - three feet to the pin. (And yes I made the putt!)

Major shout out to Maple Hill Golf in Grand Rapids if I may.  After the fitting I had told my buddy I was going to shop around.  I went to Wilson's web site intending to order direct - I was only going with 7-PW & G. But price point was a big more than expected.

I've had some really good experiences with Maple Hill folks - so figured why not try, picked up the phone and gave them a call on Tuesday afternoon.  Lo and behold, by noon Wednesday they were on my doorstep for half the price I would have paid going direct. And they included the 5 & 6!

Funny a week ago tonight I had no plans or intentions at all for new clubs and voila - here we are.

I had the same experience in January with a laptop.  I screwed it up (beat the keyboard in frustration and literally killed the hard drive).  In my defence, it was 12 yrs old and was slow and dying.  I told the wife it died suddenly (mostly true) and wouldn't boot back up.  Bought a new one (Apple Mac Air) so it all ended well.
