Ping 10K vs Elyte TD

I know it probably sounds crazy, but have any 10K players tried the Elyte TD? I noticed MGS gave great reviews for accuracy and distance for the Elyte TD. Both metrics were ranked higher than the 10K. I understand the distance, but the accuracy results surprised me. All swing speeds were more accurate and longer with the TD. Just wondering if any of you have tested both, or made the switch.

TD is the longest driver I tried but not the most forgiving. For what it is, the TD is forgiving but no where close to the 10K in the forgiveness department. 
 

TD headweight is around 196g and 10K is about 203g if I remember correctly. 

TD Max gets closer to the 10K but still not at the same level of forgiveness for me at least. 
 

Both Callaway’s were longer for me than the 10K and the TD has another gear when you hit one in just the right spot. I did not do that frequently enough to play the TD consistently. 
 

TD Max was the winner last year for me and it worked very well for my swing. 
 

Moved to the G440 Max this season and have been more than impressed with its distance and forgiveness. Seems to be a great fit for my swing.

Elyte TD a good head- but ping 10k and 440lst a lot more consistent across the face spin wise. 
 

Elyte TD is very fast and long. Lower spinning annd faster overall than pings but a lot more variation in strike. Also sits very open if that bothers your eye like it does mine.

Ping 10K is the best for forgiveness while keeping spin down.  It’s a cheat code

I am currently in the Elyte TD Max from the G430 10K. I think that is your comp (or the TD TD), not the standard TD. I tried an Ai Smoke TD in the interim, and that was nice also but too fade biased for me.

 

In any case, while I loved the 10K, the TD Max is straighter for me and puts me in more fairways. I probably had about 10 solid Ping-adapter shafts around that I put the 10K through the wringer. Ping Tour Chrome, Kai’li White, several GD shafts, etc. I had settled on the Tour AD HD with the 10K, and it was very good.

 

When I grabbed the Elyte TD Max to try, I also put that through the wringer on the course with a number of Callaway shafts. I interestingly settled on the MMT 60 S, and it has really been excellent. Strictly talking forgiveness, I suppose the 10K is technically more forgiving. But the bottom line as I pointed out, is that the TD Max puts me in more fairways than the 10K. It really does not give up much in forgiveness to the 10K.

 

All of that said, while I get rid of most of my replaced drivers, the 10K is sticking around both as a backup, and in case the TD Max ever decides to go south on me..., lol. YMMV.

I have both and tend to pick the 10k most of the time. I don’t find the Elyte td all that unforgiving I tend to pick the 10k just for how easy it is to launch and get up in the air.

I went from a 10k to a TD Max and don't regret it. The 10k may be a very tiny bit more forgiving but the TD Max gives me a lower launch and less spin, and you can generally it it all over the face with good results.

I had a 10k, have hit the TD a couple of times and given a choice, I'd take it over the 10k.   

 

But it could be that Callaway's shaft options fit me better than what Ping had at the time.

I’m curious about this. My swing speed is about 89-91 but I’m spinning a bit much. I have the G440 Max but am wondering if I am sacrificing some distance due to too much spin. It’s hard to find a low spin driver that comes with a stock regular flex shaft 😞

I take everything from MGS with a huge grain of salt.  For a site that started off as touting 'true independent testing' they've become a bit of a farce over the years IMO.

2 totally different drivers. I can’t imagine someone loving both.

 

The 10k Max is shallow and looks like an oversized 3 wood. The Elyte TD is deep and beautiful at address. For my swing, the Elyte TD in the “D” setting is the most forgiving driver I’ve ever hit. I loved the Ai Smoke TD but it was too fade-biased for me. The Elyte TD is for someone looking for a little more launch with a little less fade bias than the Ai Smoke TD. 

I don’t know who the 10k Max is designed for, but it wasn’t me.

I've got the Elyte triple diamond just now up against my current Cobra Max K, and it's been a bit weird to see the Elyte TD being as good as the cobra in a lot of ways, forgiveness wise, i've noticed it's not a fan of being hit on the toe, but it doesn't snap hook like the cobra does now and again, i never hit the heel so no option on that, if i hit it poorly then both drivers suffer as much, nothing adds forgiveness to a completely poor swing.

 

Will be testing a bit more, as i'm tweaking my swing a little to cut out the hooks, so probably being a bit unfair on the cobra at present, but keeping both for now.

You're right that almost all LS drivers on display racks will be S or X, but they can put it together on the fitting cart and there's nothing preventing custom ordering with R.    I've gone that route my last two LSTec drivers.
