Different Shaft in Long Irons vs Short Irons

OK so a few years ago I was fitted and had a custom set of Zx5's built for me. The set looked like this:

6i-G - ZX5's

4i - 5i - ZX4's

Steelfiber i110cw shafts

7i - 36.75" playing length.

I recently won a set of JPX925 Forged with True Temper Mid 115 shafts in a charity raffle. I trimmed all the clubs to my playing lengths and took them out for some range sessions and a few rounds. I had some basic observations; the 925's are hotter, shafts felt softer / more noodly, have a lower ball flight, lower spin and, much longer total distance than my ZX5's. I prefer my ZX5's in almost every instance, except the long irons. The 925's the softer shaft seemed easier to hit in the 5-6 iron, so I took both sets to the range and confirmed my thinking. This got me wondering if I should look at stepping my 4-6 iron shafts in the Srixon to something lighter, my first thought was the Steelfiber i95cw's as I love the i110's?

Is this something that folks will do, or am I way off in my logic and what I perceived? I know the SF i110 is historically known as a very stiff "stiff" shaft.

I never got along with SF i95cw stiff, but enjoyed playing SF i110cw stiff for 2yrs, great shafts.

IMO Mixing different shafts with similar bend profiles is fine, but I'd never have two different iron head styles in 3i-9i, but that's me. A quirky friend, however, has 3 different iron heads with different shafts.

Currently, I have mid-high bend Pro 95g Tour Spec stiff composite in a T200 2i driving iron and T100 3i & 4i, and high-bend PX Red 6.0 steel in T100 5i-9i.

The blended heads seem to be very common with Srixon. Even as of recent I think it was Spaun or Kegan plays the ZX7 but has a few ZX5's on the longer irons, probably 4i-5i. I'm kind of 50/50 about this but I'm not looking to cary a Mizuno 925 Forged 5i-6i and a ZX5 7-GW, that seems quirky to me lol.

i got like 3 different shafts in 5i-pw.

not intended. the store ran out of the ones i wanted lol.

haven't had issues with it other than taking a bit of time to adjust at the range. gapping is still fine and im getting the ball flight that i want.

definitely not the ideal way of going about it...

It's actually the common trend nowadays to go with a lighter shaft from a different OEM in long irons especially driving/utility irons. With that being said, your setup is fine as long as it works for you.
