This year the feedback was more players wanted the TSR2 "forgiveness" with lower spin and GT2 evolved from that. GT3 does spin a tad higher but it is a more modern tour shape and sizing. Definitely go to hit them if you can and highly recommend a fitting just to get the specs dialed!

Of course these got announced the day I hit my gt1 3 wood for the first time. I feel like these would have been perfect for me as the current ones balloon too much for me and I lost a bit of distance from my current 3 wood. I only got them for the shallow shape.. I switched my weights today but I wonder how different the tour would have been, especially with the difference in loft 😞

The question for me as a regular Joe is do I need one if I already have a TM Qi10 core?  I certainly understand why Titleist would want to offer something for their player who prefer this type head to stay on brand, and good on then for offering it at retail.  Has anyway hit one compared to the Qi10??

Good question and I can’t answer it but my understanding is Titleist developed this to battle Taylormade because so many Titleist staffers were gaming Qi10 fairways when they developed this and they wanted to stop some of that. I’m guessing you are good with the qi10 and wouldn’t see much benefit if you are happy with that club.

Hit this at the store today....first thing that jumped out at me was wow this thing feels great. Just perfect sound and feel. The shape is nice and big and face is shallow but not too shallow. I just hit it with the stock setup and was striping it off the mat. I am in full Mini Driver mode, but I might have to pick one of these up. Seems like the total package for a 3 wood for me. Waiting on some trade in credit to process so that saves me from an impulse buy, but if I had the credit today I'd be putting in my order right now 😂

I am currently gaming the GT1 and I was using a Ventus Blue Velo+ 7x in mine tipped 1". I was getting around 250 carry with minimal roll out at all, the ball went super high and just dropped. 

 

I put in the Ventus Black Velo+ 7x (tipped 1") and it definitely brought the height down quite a bit, I seemed to get a bit more roll out with it.

 

I feel comfortable using either or, the course I play at mainly gets hit with quite a bit of wind so on those windy days Ill probably plug in the Black, otherwise I will probably use the Blue. I use the GT1 in a 3W (250-260 yd) and 7W (225-235 yd) and absolute game changers to attack Par 5s.

 

I contemplated long and hard about getting the GT1 Tour, but honestly, I don't think I need anymore distance or the potential benefit of what it could bring, my gapping is perfect how I want it at the moment.

One of the equipment guys on Insta just did a video on it.  He said it has the thermocrown on it to lower the CG.  It's a direct competitor to Qi10/Qi35 in head size (180cc) and CG location.  Titleist sick of their staffers not using their fairway woods see (Clark, Aberg, etc)

I had the opportunity to hit this yesterday at a Titleist fitting event at my home club and as someone that carries a Mini Driver (to be replaced by the GT280 soon), I will be adding one of these to swap out between the mini depending on the course.  I typically don’t hit 3 woods consistently well, I’m streaky good with them at best.  This is so easy to flight, hit off of a tee, off the deck and so on.  It’s almost a cheat code for a fairway wood.  I’d recommend this to anyone that struggles with a 3 wood, its so damn easy to hit consistently.

Has anyone compared this to TSi? Feels like with that weighting it might be just a slightly lower spinning version of TSi2 fairways (or more moderately lower spinning if you put heavy weight forward), which is exactly what I am looking for. TSi was a cheat code for me but just a bit too spinny, and so far Qi10 hasn't been the answer, and GT2 spin was a touch too low when I tested.

Hit this again today at the store, probably about 20 shots. Since I don't currently have a 3/4 wood I put in an order using trade in credit, I enjoyed hitting it so much. This thing is just so easy to hit and feels so satisfying to me. The numbers off the deck were great, plenty of launch and ballspeed and 3000-3400 spin. Not sure what the weights were set at and I was just hitting it with a hzrdus black 6.0, but I'm sure I'll find that ideal setting. I ordered it with a bread and butter Ventus Blue+ 7x.

Smartest thing I’ve heard today. 
mine is on order with the blue + 7s. Was told the same as the previous poster. August 8 ship date

From my experience it sounds more metallic like then the other GT models. With the GT1 having a metal crown, its going to have a more metallic sound to it. Its not a huge difference however, just slightly different.
