Well just another boring Sunday finish to a major!  😂😂😂😂That was awesome.  Shame Lottie didn’t make play off but her reaction on range was cool.  She looks like she will make the transition to paid ranks ok.

Saw Grace Kim when she played at my home course and won a WAPT event in 2021. At one point in the final round, she led by 9 shots and ended winning by 2.

I recorded this one & just finished watching it.  I sat there at the end with my mouth hanging open for about ten minutes. 😗  I can't remember seeing such a surprising & fantastic finish.  Congrats to Grace, to Jeeno for a classy loss, and to Lottie for her chance to join the LPGA now if she wants to. I'm drained!

Fake major or not, the tournament has been producing some great finishes. 

 

Really like the course. Produces some low scores, and some doozies.

Personally,  this is becoming my favorite LPGA major. Always seems to be an exciting finish. Good crowds that appreciate good golf. It also reminds me a little like Augusta in that you don't need to over power it but be precise with your shots and work the ball around the course. Putting is also more crucial with all the sloped greens.

What a finish, indeed.  I was watching before going to play 18 this morning and was almost late because there was no way I was going to leave without see the finish of the playoff.  I was pulling for Jeeno, but Grace's eagle-birdie-eagle was amazing!

Congrats Grace on an AMAZING finish! Happy for her and I love how the Aussies support each other so naturally. It's hard NOT to root for them when they're at the International Crown upcoming.

 

I feel that Andrea Lee could have won this easily if her putter was working. Sadly Gianna Clemente didn't make the cut this time but she had a much better Day 2. Do we have Grace to thank for Nelly retaining World #1? Jeeno not playing in Scotland according to the TV crew so might last a bit longer.

I won't go that far for myself, but I do like that it has a fairly unique profile  - it's not brutal like a U.S. Open but it's a good test, it's played at the same course instead of being rotated, the scenery is great, the crowds solid.  As was said, it produces exciting finishes and we've seen quite a few elite winners.

Absolutely wonderful exhibition of golf. To win by finishing eagle, birdie (with a penalty stroke), eagle...unbelievable. I honestly don't think anyone, anywhere has had a more dramatic finish to win. And let's not forget the "amateur" Lottie Woad who won the Women's Irish Open just last week, she was sitting on the clubhouse lead at 13 under while Kim & Thitikul battled their way to 18.

Golf Channel suggests that at start of 18th hole Grace had just over a 1% chance of winning.  I daresay it was down to that (or less?) again after her errant shot on the first extra hole. For someone with prior Sunday scars, surely this is a huge liberating boost for her moving forward.

 

And what about Jeeno casually chatting as they walk the 72nd fairway. What did JessicaK call it, competition and camaraderie. Not sure who else would do it quite that way and you might argue it's not "strategically optimal" but something about Jeeno has been unique and compelling likeable right from the start.
