Gotta give him some credit—he is so darn good in these Opens. But it is not quite the best thing for excitement at the Open in general (although this seems like it could be a crowded field—hopefully…).

Scottie obviously going to need a really big day here, probably has to go 68 at least, anything E or less might more or less take him out of contention, especially since Saturday weather now looks significantly better.  If we assume leader is -8 which seems likely there will be too many guys at 5/6/7 to be able to make it back from -3 or worse.

Haotong Li is an enigma. I thought he was the Next Big Thing like a decade ago, then he sort of disappeared into obscurity on the DP World Tour. This is the first major he's even played in since 2022. Hasn't made a major cut since 2020!

USA showed his eagle putt, just not the birdie that tied him for the lead. Got a shot of Carlos Ortiz chipping in to miss the cut, though!

great 65 by harmon.  i know golf his a long hitters game now but when you can control your distance and just hit straight darts you can beat anyone.  his mannerisms are different but i enjoy watching him when his on.

China having practically no male golfers while Korea/Japan have a ton is as bizarre to me as the NHL having tons of Swedes and Fins and no Norwegians....they had one actually and he was only half Norwegian and half Italian

In 2023 BH had a 5 shot lead after 2 rounds and far fewer pursuers in range of him. 
 

He may not even still have the lead at the end of the day

On the World Feed ... the commentator (Andrew Cotter) observed that Brian Harman and Harris English are 2 Americans who seemingly love Links golf as if they've played it all their lives ... and made the observation that there's an Irish connection i.e. their coach Justin Parsons is from County Down.

bryson really fought hard today after a horrible first round.  hopefully he sneaks into the weekend.  legend phil T20 and i havent heard the broadcast say much about him playing.  im excited to see what scottie does today.  i think he goes low and enters the weekend in the top 5 at worst.
