It’s all over but the shouting.

Speaking of shouting…has there ever been a bigger group of whiny little cry babies on the PGA Tour as there is right now?  Between the Blowpig destroying property, Hatton slamming clubs every few holes, and John Rahm acting like a four year old throwing a tantrum as he kicked his club down the fairway yesterday, it just seems like the Tour has an entitled toddler problem and it’s a really bad look.  It may be a small group of guys, but the Tour really should sit these guys down and tell them to start acting like adults.

it’s more entertaining than watching someone fall asleep playing golf.

Have you watched any other sports in your life?

Yeah, but I can’t recall Steph kicking a water bottle down the court and stomping around like a toddler during an off night shooting.

That said, every sport has their whiners.  They just seem to be more prevalent in golf these days.  Shouldn’t be surprising though, as a lot of these guys grew up as entitled kids.

I can't help but giggle every time they show Rory's bodyguard. Guys like a rather large Ed Sheeran. He's my favourite.

Gotta find something to be entertained with when Thanos Scheffler is dominating like this. He is inevitable.

I still fail to see how Scottie does not win around 12 majors in the end unless someone comes along and is a problem for him

Except for his little interview the other day where he said he doesn't really care if he wins anything. Yes, you can parse and interpret that all you want, but I cannot recall or even imagine any other top ten major winner ever saying something like that.

I could see him quitting at a young age like Byron Nelson or Bobby Jones. He made it clear the other day that golf is nowhere close to his top priority. One of these days he might decide he wants to spend way more time with his family.

Plus Jack and Hogan are the only guys who have won 9 majors after they turned 30.

However, the second part of your post Como82 is very pertinent, as right now the under-30 male golfing contigent is almost completely moribund. I will likely start a separate thread on this on Monday, but right now the only guy under 30 near the top is Gotterup, whose majors record has been very spotty.  The twins are both -6 and have acquitted themselves fairly well I'll grant, but have no top tens in any majors yet.  Åberg is -5 but has missed the last two major cuts after his 71 hole effort at the Masters. OK there's Haotong, but he will turn 30 in 2 weeks and has been lost in the wilderness for the entire decade. Hovland is likely the biggest disappointment all told, and Morikawa the one which has frittered away his early promise the most.

Point is some of these guys need to turn their potential into actual, and that right soon. If none of them do, hell Scottie may indeed tie Tiger at this rate.

Well, for starters, two of them aren’t members of the PGA Tour.   And they can have the third too.

I think Scottie shoots -2/-3 tomorrow and closes it out pretty easily.

Scottie rarely comes back to the field. Someone is gonna have to shoot a 61 or 62 along with a bad day from Scottie.

Golf is one of if not the most difficult sport. Mentally.  Of course it’s going to frustrate .  I can say this. In a former life I was a very high level track athlete. That had a cup of coffee with a high level college basketball team. I did  both my whole life. Quit cold turkey around 23 . Then I did nothing athletic till 35 and started golf. And immediately went whole hog , and was a plus handicap pretty quick , playing in as high as usga qualifiers , missing out by a shot or two several times. Point is. I’ve never been ready to kick my own arse playing basketball against future nba players. As I did for several summers . ( Kevin Garnett being one) or running track sub 49 seconds in the 400m. Which  in the 90s was smokin for an amateur.all of that was easy.  Mentally. Just taxing physically.  It wasn’t a mental struggle at all.  It wasn’t until I played tournament golf that I realize how mentally stunted I was. Real talk.

Golf is like chess in the heat. But no. I don’t condone those like Rahm being a baby.  He’s retired.  He should have made peace with not being on top anymore.

It's like the OG Tiger days when I'd be surprised if he didn't win.

If it was Rors taking the lead into R4; I'd be all "Anything can happen." Scottie? Nah.

I don't think it will change much with the neutered rollback.  D.I.C. is still in control.

Distance industrial complex?

If so, while I don't agree with you on the rollback, kudos from me for a brilliant turn of phrase 😉

Maybe looks are deceiving on TV, but he doesn't look like he has an athletic build to take off on a moments notice to get someone before they could get to Rors. I'm surprised he doesn't have someone who's built like an NFL linebacker.

Oh sorry didn’t realize that was supposed to be humor. My bad. I guess I’m not up on my claustrophobia “jokes”

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm just going down the list of people in the top 5; do I think Haotong Li is beating Scottie by 5 shots tomorrow? No. Do I think Fitzpatrick is beating Scottie by 6 shots? No. If Rory was at -10 instead of Haotong I think this would be interesting. Today was absolutely clinical. Didn't have his best stuff for the first 6 holes but then hit the gas pedal. The approach shot Scottie hit on par 5 7th and the tee shot on par 3 16th are stuck in my head.  Such pure strikes

So one time in 16 years, averaging 90+ events a year, plus Olympics, ASGs, etc.  That’s your comparison to these whiny babies that throw tantrums almost every single week of the year? 🤣

Hatton is hilarious 😂

Unlike other crybaby players that slam clubs I actually enjoy watching him because of his sense of humor that goes along with it.

Agree.  I've heard anecdotes that many other players like him so I figure that counts for something too
