The reason the LIV guys like Bryson, Phil, Sergio, etc. all seem to put up good numbers in their last round is because they’re already way out of contention.  There’s no pressure and nothing on the line.  So, pretty much what they’re used to over at LIV.

i agree ... i get it ... would love to see yesterday's equipment be the standard ... 

 

but you really think SS is going to suffer more than others? ... he bends it both ways, uses trajectory, has a great short game and is probably a much longer version of Trevino than just about anyone has ever been ... or a less talented version of Tiger ... Rory usually chooses to hit a high draw if he has no other shot ... look at yesterday's round ... several par fours SS hits the right shape with the right traj to the pin ... but, yeah, if I won a big version of the lottery, I'd want to offer up a tournament with yesterday's equipment, even if only for amateurs ... would love to see that ...

What Scottie is doing in a modern field is every bit as impressive as What Tiger was doing in 1999-2009. This is coming from a massive Tiger fan by the way.

 

The only question is how long he can keep it going.

most guys will be fine with an adjustment to the equipment.

SS is going to be great no matter what and that's perfect.  I just want the required skill levels raised for elite level golf.  I'm starting to sound like Mike Clayton here ha ha.  There are only so many spots available at the pro level and the ball speed imposters should be ejected.  Instead they're kept around because equipment allows it.  Okay, that was my last post on equipment in this thread.
