MMT in Taylormade P790’s

Team-

What’s the overall feedback on the OEM MMT 65 and/or 75 in the P790’s? Do they play weaker than say the real MMT’s? Normally play a regular flex steel shaft for example, currently in the KBS Tour Lite’s. 60 yrs old, 7 iron about 140 these days. Assuming the 65R, stupid lite though. Was even thinking trying their 75S if they play weak to flex, just to get the weight. Was hoping to avoid dropping $1600 on a custom set. May have too. Wonder why they have such lite options in their OEM offerings on the graphite side of things?

P.S.-Can’t find ANY info or feedback on these!

I owned the previous version of the 790’s for a couple months. MMT 65r. They were high hook machines for me. I still have a 7&6 iron with MMT 105s that feel dead to me. But… I have a set of P7MC with the same MMT 105s that feel fantastic.

That’s all I’ve got.

I play the KBS Tour Lite regular flex, and tried the P790 in MMT 75 stiff.
It’s not the flex I didn’t like, it was the weight. Too light.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there's any difference between MMT's installed by an OEM and the ones you buy in the aftermarket.

I play MMT 125 stiff in my Srixon set. No complaints. It would be nice if there was a wider selection of heavier graphite shafts in manageable flexes but I'm doing okay with these. I've never hit a shot that caused me to second guess the shaft.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the feedback. I’m getting old, but those 65 and even 75 still might be too mulch of a transition.

The lightest MMT I tested was 85g. Still have 95S, 105S, and 125S. Outstanding shafts. I can't say if they are weaker to flex, since those are parallel and I only tested taper tip. Parallel shafts cost less, and IMO OEMs only stock lighter-weight graphite because there isn't much heavy-weight graphite demand.
