New Iron HELP needed.

Hey all,

Looking for some help with my next iron set. Currently playing Mizuno JPX 923 HM. Nippon 110 X, soft step 1.

I've improved a ton since I got fit into these, and have also tinkered with the specs a ton, but feel like I've outgrown them.

Normally, I'd just go get fit again, but I play 2 inches long and 2 degrees up so I'm not sure if anyone can fit me.

Ball striking with irons is my strength. Hitting 60% of GIR from the fairway.

Biggest issue with current irons is distance control. My front to back dispersion is worse than my side to side now. I feel like I'm catching a ton of fliers with these heads.

Thinking: t100, p770, or Maltby TS4

The TS4 seems to make the most sense because it's cheap and I like to tinker, but I'm not sure if they can keep up as far as accuracy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently in the process of making the switch to a Maltby TS1-IM / TS4 combo set. I started out with a TS1-IM 7 iron and a TS4 9 iron to test and it didn't take long to fall in love and put together more of the set (5-8 TS1-IM, 9-GW TS4). I pulled my trusty C-Taper 120s from my old Cobras to use. Maltby gives you the ability to tinker at a fraction of the cost. Go for it!

Inconsistent distance control typically means inconsistent face impact location. Which wouldn't be all that surprising at +2". If you don't mind me asking, what's your WTF?

And do you know the head weights of your irons? If not, do you know the swing weight and grip weight?

But regardless, use foot powder spray at your next range session (or even next round if it isn't competitive) to check out what's happening at impact.

WTF is 41.5 inches.

Swing weight is around E3 last time I checked. Honestly, my body seems pretty indifferent to swing weight.

I definitely have some vertical inconsistency with my iron strikes as I have a pretty high AOA. But still. We're talking about a 6i carrying anywhere between 205 to 230 on fairly pure strikes depending on vertical face location and flier lie or whatnot.. just looking to tighten these up.

I find myself having to really heavily account for flier lies by but to a club and a half at times.

Just mainly looking at the cool clubs reviews robot data. There is none for the Maltby. So I have no idea what the dispersion looks like against those irons on off center strikes.
