PX io discontinued

Not surprised they discontinued the IO. Never felt overly popular to me.

Agreed. These lightweight PX models (PXi and IO) never seem to catch a lot of play comparatively to other lightweight "low/mid" models like DG 105 and CTL. PX is generally a boardy feeling shaft, so I think when you lighten it up even more it feels even harsher, which contributes.

Thanks, ya feels like they dont get a lot of traction, having said that I absolutely love the io in 6.0.  Having a shorter aggressive swing, just something that works for me so well.  Will give red a try, but then again it won't get any traction and then they will discontinue that too.

I don't like the LZ at all, I really don;t like that softness in the middle.

Tested these a number of years ago and liked them, finally put them in a set I rebuilt last year. I could see the stock was not being backfilled on Golf Works so I was expecting this at some time. I really like the shafts, bummer they won't be readily available going forward.

Thats not the way i see this
PXI had the genuine PX profile, only way softer on all measure points, so its no way that shaft will feel hars or boardy at its weight, if so, its the EI profile that dont match. (Mid section too stiff)

As example PXI 6.5 has the weight of PX 5.5 but is softer than PX 5.0, so how can it feel boardy?

I think it is all a marketing issue under the PX label where they never tried to explain how each PX model was designed to be, so it might be easier when they clearly state "RED LABEL", to tell its a different shaft than the OG "PX Blue".

PX Blue is a boardy shaft model, and in my shop, even worse.....

- as a new club maker, i made the rookie mistake thinking uncut lengtht for PX was identical to DG, but what happens if you do?

ALL my demo and fitting shafts was HS1......yes, PX hard stepped once, but i still sold them, also a lot of them as "Soft stepped once" who actually was "strait in"

....so educate me about PX...be my guest, i know them the hard way, and IMO its one of the best shaft profiles ever made, but weight often becomes too light, before feel becomes right.....that was the idea about PXI and IO, but the marked did not seem to get that message, now they try again with a RED label, where they clearly tells this is a different model than the OG PX Blue.

its a need for it to make a full line up, all based on the same signature profile with some twists.

PS! My bag is based on OG BLUE to PX profiles who is very similar when we acknowledge that the BLUE will NOT look like it does installalled (vs paper specs) since it was a bore through design,(Tip trim it 1.25" and all numbers change about half a flex" vs paper specs, so installed the OG blue look much like PX Blue Tour issue.

That's fair, but all that matters is what feels good to a player, right? I personally think PX is the worst shaft ever made, feels like garbage across the line for me. So who's correct? Neither of us, honestly. It's just feel and players will like what they like, be it soft/smooth, i.e. a traditional bend profile or something stiffer and more linear or more pronounced stiffness in the mid and tip.

We are on the same line, PX Blue is the stiffest shaft on the marked judged as grams per inch, so it is boardy, and that was the difference to PXI....it had the weight, just as a softer option with the same profile, or a "smoother" PX if you like. I really liked the PXI model.

I play PX 5.5 and love them - no boardy feel here.  You cannot measure feel.  PXi did not feel good to me compared and neither did IO.  Everyone's mileage varies.  I start with weight, somewhere around the 115g mark for me.  Modus 115 (118g) is good for me.  PX LZ 6.0 (120g) as to me it feels softer (probably is in scientific data terms) even though it weighs a bit more than OG PX 5.5 (115g).

AI Smoke Max 9* - Ventus Blue+ 2024 6s // Elyte Ti 3w - Atmos Blue TS 7s // Mizuno HMP 4i - Modus 115s // Srixon 565/765 Combo 5-PW - Project X 5.5 // HMP 50 - Modus 115s // SM 10 D 53 (wedgeworks smooth grind) - SM 200 // SM10 S 57 (wedgeworks smooth grind) - S200 // SM10 T 61 - S200 // Odyssey Microhinge 2025 // 2024 TP5
