Are KBC C taper stiff+ actually stiffer than modus 120 x-stiff?

The modus is an overall smooth shaft. And I know the c taper 130x is pretty freaking stiff.

Russ rydens (golf shaft reviews) a site is going to be the best thing we get access to thats affordable (I think you can get access to the s3 database but it’s $$$$)

 

I don’t have the specifics but modus 120 x is going to be between an r300 and s300 in flex, but weighs 10 grams less.  It’s also got a little stiff tip than those two, with a majorly softer midsection and handle about the same.

c taper s+ is going to be more like a stiffer and lighter x100, only the very end of the handle is soft and then it quickly gets  very stiff  in the mid and stiff(but not over stiff tip)

Yes, I would say the c taper stiff + feels much more linear than the c taper stiff +

 

I think the closets is a project x ls 6.5 or project x 6.5.  The ctaper feels more harsh than both of those to me

Wow. I thought for sure the c tapers would feel smoother than the rifles especially the stiff +. I thought I heard the rifles are like the stiffest iron shafts out there.

It’s going to be player dependent.  I think for most ctaper 125 s+ feels stiffer than px 6.5

I highly recommend you try them out at the store for yourself.

 

IE: everyone says C tapers are boardy..... I could never understand what they were saying because to me they are super smooth.

I didn't like Tour V....

 

So it all depends on your feel and the type of striker you are. The correct shaft will feel great to you.

Again, it really depends on the type of swinger you are and how much power you can generate.

Then figure out the overall weight and swing weight that suits you.

 

IE: a lot of people love their blue boards..... I couldn't hit it.... White boards worked great for me.

IE: I'm "supposed" to be in X-flex based on my swing and ball speed.... but I hate the X-flex feel so I kept looking for a shaft that's S but has a super stable profile so I can just rip it and still feels nice in the hands.

 

I'd really spend a lot of time at the store and test the shafts out till you're satisfied and not listen to these so called "fitters".

You're a 4HC, I'd trust my instincts and knowledge if I were you.

Ctaper profile is pretty close to PX profile.  

 

Modus120 such a weird shaft with that big midsoft but if it fits you, you'll probably love it.

 

PX LZ is a less extreme version of 120.  LZ feels a touch tighter overall.

From your experience did you feel the c tapers or rifle shaft to be stiffer?

PX has a little more hinge feel under the hands.  That's the main difference I felt and it was subtle.

If you’re trying to compare Modus 120 X to CTaper 125 (or CTaper any flex for that matter) without hitting them then you’re doing it wrong. Different worlds.
