What do you do when you can’t find a grip that matches your favorite wedge? Then start your own grip company like the fellows at Juicy Lie.

On a quest to find grips that match my personality and play style for my Bettinardi and Vokey build I stumbled across Juicy Lie, a new Grip company in 2025 looking to add some vibrancy to golf gear. Upon personally reaching out with some questions regarding the grips, future products, philosophy and etc this is what I received in response from Chris Potter.

  • Organizational Philosophy:
    • Purpose: To inspire self-expression and individuality in golf by redefining how the game looks and feels - one bold design at a time.
    • Mission: At Juicy Lie, we believe that golf should be as vibrant as those who play it. Our mission is to transform the game by offering colorful, personality-packed products and equipment that empower golfers of all levels to express themselves on the course.
    • Vision: To reimagine the game of golf as a dynamic canvas of self-expression, where boldness, creativity, and individuality thrive.
  • Target Audience: Golf enthusiasts who love the game but don’t take it too seriously. They’re passionate about playing, but also value self-expression and want to break away from the traditional, buttoned-up look often associated with the sport.
  • Current Product Offering:
    • Club Grips: We currently have club grips in 11 different colorways.
  • Future Product Offering:
    • Club Grips: our plan is to constantly introduce new colorways, including three new colorways that we'll introduce in the next quarter or so.
    • Golf Towels: we'll be introducing golf towels in the next 4-6 weeks featuring two vibrant colorways.
    • Putter Grips: In the next 8-10 months, we'll also be introducing putter grips, featuring an initial run of five colorways.

Although Juicy Lie is a relatively young brand, we've been encouraged by the initial response.”

That future color way and putter grip note made me hope and dream of a Juicy Lie X GolfWRX collab grip. I am not sponsored by, affiliated with or get anything back from any company. I just really appreciate their Club Junkie approach, upon receiving a set of grips for my build I can say the packaging is top quality, the grips themselves are a tad heavier than a standard grip but the tackiness and grip design is wonderful. The rubber is very soft, I was expecting a rubber compound firmness between a tour Velvet and a cheap knockoff grip from Amazon(Karma Velour), I was wrong. These are as soft if not softer than tour velvets. I’m looking forward to putting them through their paces for durability and performance so I cannot give feedback on those yet but wanted to bring them to my WRX Brethren's attention for any custom builds! Check in on the Member Testing Reviews Bettinardi Mb24 and CB24 for a rebuild of the Bettis soon!

Cool idea and best of luck! Any word on price per grip?

They are now available between $10.99  and $12.99 a piece but they have a buy 10 get 2 free deal. They are on the pricy end but they are high quality from what I can tell so far, I’ll review them more in depth when I finish my build. They are also very new so I’d assume price to come down as new models are released and they pick up steam. I don’t work for them so I don’t know, but they are good people and true WRXers! I’d suggest reaching out to them directly for any suggestions and questions. Their customer service is what sold me on them, Chris was very easy to communicate with and is passionate about their mission. I’m very curious to see their future putter grip releases! The rubber they use on these regular grips is great!

No problem! I’m a fan of the colors too, they fit the bill perfectly to match my ferrules. Being a new company I'm sure they will appreciate any and all feedback/suggestions they can get from us Club Junkies

Unfortunate name choice IMO.

I can see they are going for the new-fun-BadBirdie-Barstool-golfer and I wish much success, but I think they might have painted themselves into a bit of a corner there.

I thought it was a funny name but I can see how you could see that. I initially was attracted for the colors but the micro texture and simple design is in itself my favorite part since receiving a few of these grips.

Cool but seems like lots of other similar grips are coming out. My one gripe on grips like this is they're all the same, standard size, tapered heavy, lacking options.

Good for someone wanting some flash on their clubs, not good for someone picky who wants option for their clubs.

Definitely lacking options. One of the reasons I reached out to them if they planned on making different models in the future. They are fairly heavy, average midsize weight in a standard profile. Won’t work for everyone but I myself have Bear paws that require a standard size grip but I enjoy a heavier grip, I did however notice that these are very soft once installed and hardly noticed the weight difference from my standard Tour Velvet plus 4s. I’m a bit of a gorilla though

Same i have bear paws for hands. Tend to fall into the MCC+4 Midsize grips with extra wraps. Not many grips like that or if something similar texture wise i have to get them built up a ton which many shops don't like doing and/or don't do it well.

Maybe one day I'll develop a line of taperless grips for bigger handed guys.

Pretty cool and thanks for the review OP.

They feel and look great so far! I’ll properly review them shortly, I’m going to take my utility iron to the range soon and hit 300 balls with just the utility to see how they wear. Going to spray them with water every 15-20 balls too

I like the vibe, but $11 for a tour velvet is a bit much.

No doubt $11 for a tour velvet is too much but if GP sold softer Tour Velvets in brighter colors, I might not mind spending the extra for some limited editions stylish versions. I’m a bit boujee and careless though and have spent the money on Grip Masters and Jumbo Maxes and immediately cut them off for good ol Tour Velvets. I’ll reserve my final opinion after I put them to work but so far around the house and in the backyard they feel fantastic

Update:

Here is a comparison between a standard Tour Velvet 360, Juicy Lie, Tour Velvet +4 and a Karma Velour.

The finer pattern of the Juicy lie is very tacky, noticeably more soft and supple but it is not as deep as the other three. The Juicy Lie grip is also a touch longer. I think if they slightly reduced the length and deepened the texture of the grip it would remove quite a bit of weight and bring it in line with the others BUT I like it just the way it is personally, the mild counterbalance and tackiness feels phenomenal. They installed easily and I was curious to see if the colors would bleed around the lettering during install but they did not, I even purposely poured extra solvent on the letters to see if they started to wipe away like the cheap Karma Velours do, but they do not.

at first I compared these to tour velvets but after a day of playing around with them they are noticeably different. Definitely worth a buy if you want to add some style and flair to your gear!

it would be good to see it compared to the generic grips that are plentiful on Amazon like these. The Juicy Lie website doesn't give any insight as to why it's any better, if at all, different. It's like DTC irons, DTC grips originate from the same place too.  More premium grips like Iomic, No1, etc... are noticeably different and never copied in terms of actual feel (though plenty of fakes are out there).

I did add in the Karma Velour, it’s a fairly popular Amazon grip. Compared to those they are lights out. I’m a long time tour velvet player and these Juicy Lie grips are softer and tacky, jury is still out on durability and all weather performance but I’ll update when I know more from testing! Will say they feel great and they combo with BBF Co Ferrules really well!

Are they anything like the Iomic Sticky?

I love those grips. $18 each is some 🧀 so I’m waiting until the matching grips on all my new Pings are wore out after this season.

The Juicy Lie grips are softer and heavier than the Iomic 2.3 but the Iomics are more tacky when dry, the Juicy Lie grips are very tacky though even when wet

They need to offer different sizes

I agree, they are style focused for sure but as they get going I could see more sizes and info coming to light. These are realistically a bit of tweeners. They have less taper than a standard Golf Pride tour velvet I would say they are +2-3 or so on build up tape thicker on the bottom half. These are like a very soft and tacky Tour Velvet +4
