Early Wrist Set Kills Your LAG & Causes You To Cast (Do THIS Instead). AMG recommends Hack Motion.

All they are saying is the other extreme is bad too.  As is over hinging.  The pushing down as well. I had this discussion with them last year.

IMG_4624.png

Exactly. They talked about over hinging when demonstrating and not to max out the wrist set early, not necessary don’t set them which is what they got into worth float loading.

And when early wrist set is discussed in the forum it’s about doing it earlier than people are currently setting in their videos.

Are we still watching these instructional videos with clickbait titles and thinking that THIS is the secret to the game that has been holding me back all these years? Lol

Every youtube video in the universe looks like this now and I hate it.

Some guy doing something with a blurred background and gigantic red shouty letters.  Oh, and a few big emojis for good measure.

These are just like political discussions.  The looney left and right make the majority of sane people on the left and right look foolish. Both extremes are bad, just like constipation and diarrhea.

I went political and bathroom, likely offending everyone.  That’s how you know you’ve done well.

Right, but most of the extreme stuff I’ve seen on the forum is regarding early wrist set. I think it’s a good video and addresses some issues. Haven’t seen much float load advice on the opposite end.

Of course they were.    I'll be enjoying from the popcorn section but does the wrist thing company pay AMG for the plug?

Ok, because I didn't see the bunk parts.

I think maybe they had an affiliate link...which of course means huge conspiracy.

It’s a really good video.  Float load has been a recipe for 100 years and still prevails.

The political discussion is an apt comparison. Because the title is misleading, the information is short-lived, and the rest of the time is spent shilling with a paid sponsor lurking in the shadows.

I understand you're referring to the definition of "float loading" in this video and not "float loading" the bad way (which they also explain), but quotes like this is why people think golf instruction has a messaging problem lol.

Again I know you're not being contradictory at all, it just resonates with me personally because for the longest time I literally thought the definition of float loading WAS "the good way".... and that everybody hated it. It took me a long time to realize the hate was towards something else entirely.

I get the last part and agree 100%.  The good way is basically what happens when you sequence properly.  Ten problem is the bad way is what’s taught so often.

Does anyone familiar with hack motion understand the green vs red in the video?  As in which is good zone which is bad ?  It seems to be not liking what they are saying is bad . As in contradictory.

also. Maybe this video can be a future reference for stopping the speaking in absolutes ?  As in “ early wrist  set is good. Late wrist  set is bad “.  The truth is always in the middle , coupled with a “ it depends “.  And I mean in any subject golf or non golf. I’ve seen this argument here a million times. And I’ve never read anyone say “ wrist set can be too early “ , unless you’re a late set guy.  It’s always refreshing to see someone be forced to hear all sides because they’re being confronted with measurements.  Great video. Minus the hack motion sales pitch.

Because telling people "it depends" doesn't sell clicks

That'll never happen.  People like their absolutes. I actually hope it never happens. It would reduce the effectiveness of my bunk threads.

Right.  The amg video says what I’m saying.  They do a good job of saying it depends. And showing why.  I’m just saying that soooo many teach otherwise.  And that the argument here has always been treated as “ early good. Late bad” with rarely if ever defining either.  When pushed I did have a wonderful private convo with one instructor here that explained why late was bad for average golfers. And . That I wasn’t late.  Just not early.   And that “ outliers “ can be later because of wrist and hand strength.  That common players don’t posses enough to be later. All that makes sense . But it just doesn’t enter these heated debates here.  In fact. I asked privately BECAUSE of one of these heated debates. Which made me wonder if I was “ late “ and if early would be better. After trying to set straight off the ball and seeing that it made for a poor swing. I questioned it. Only to find that “ it depends “ 🤣. Which is a face palm moment after you just witnessed someone right fight to the death to say early is the only way.

i believe that ALL of us here are well intended.  But if you can fool a plus handicap into wondering if he’s missing something.  Then surely it sways average guys a ton.  Right ?  Every time I think it’s all settled science.  AMG or similar says “ nope. Here’s the measurements don’t do that extreme either  “. At what point do we stop ?

Honestly, I think the fact that they try to define the narrow and correct way to operate your wrist alignments......and then have the gall to recommend a device that can give you real time feedback on those alignments is OUTRAGEOUS!

🤣.  I do wish they explained the device better. I still don’t know if red is bad and green good or opposite. If red is bad. It seemed to be alarming on their recommendations.

Wrist and hand strength has not much to do with late or early off the ball.  It's more sequence related- those moving everything at once will tend to set later, and those emphasizing a hand start will tend to set earlier than the other.   The former is more connected for later loading and the latter better load earlier avoiding the risk of disconnecting.  But as always, it depends, but is a start at defining.

Not sure if this answers your question or not but they reversed the biofeedback ranges for the video. Biofeedback mode will show as green and make a tone when your are in the range that is set. AMG set the biofeedback zone to be the 'bad' or out of normal range numbers. Doing that means it only makes a sound when you drift out of what the target range normally is.

Normally, biofeed back is set for the range that you want to be in. That means as long as you do the movement correctly, it will be green and there will be a tone. Because AMG reversed it and they mentioned it briefly at the start on the video and only in the context of what they did in that video, red and silence is good, green and sound is bad.

The normal behavior is green and sound == good.

I get why they reversed it. There would have been a tone the entire time Shaun made the correct movement which could have been annoying.

HM does a lot more than just that one mode they showed BTW.

Thanks.  I guess that makes sense. But the entire time saying “do this “ while it’s flashing red hurt my little obsessive mind .

Id have preferred they just mute the sound and show the color green for good.  It was distracting to me. But it might just be me on that. ?
