True Temper AMT Tour Silver?

Recommended Posts

I asked about this a few days ago on the 2025 T Series thread. I was told that they sit between in between the mid launch AMT Black and the low launch AMT White.

Yea saw that. Was hoping they’d chime in with some more info. Titleist exclusive? Rather liked the feel

I hit it today in T250 and T150 fitting head along with Modus 105 that I did not care for. I would say it plays between AMT Black and AMT White.  I had AMT Black and thought it played bit too light and soft. AMT White is bit too stiff for an old guy like me.

It looks like it could be a Titleist exclusive. Callaway are offering it as a shaft in the white, black and red and while I haven’t seen it offered in Taylormade irons as a custom option online, AMT is in their custom booklet so I assume that Taylormade are offering it in white, black and red too.

Did you like the AMT silver enough to go with that shaft? I have the 2023 T150’s in the AMT black. I think if I were to get fitted for the 2025 T series irons, I think I would be fitted into either the AMT black or silver.

I’m thinking the AMT Silver is based off the DG Mid 115 where the AMT White is based off a Dynamic Gold 130 gram shaft for closest comparison. Titleist shaft chart appears to correspond to it.

Keep in mind that this is off cycle for most OEMs, so it is still early. I am sure TT will add it to their site along with the new labels and it will be offered by other OEMs with next year’s cycle.

Yes, I believe so. I had AMT Black in T200 that I played with in 2022. I found it bit too light and soft for my liking, still a good shaft. AMT White in T100S around that time, bit too much for me. I'm 64 now.

I looked at Titleist custom shaft chart, AMT Silver isn't on it yet but I did a screenshot on Titleist.com.

Tried it today, I currently have io 6.0 which is now discontinued. I played amt whites (the og ones from the 716 days) then the amt blacks.
with the io being discontinued the px red is the “replacement” which I didn’t love the feel of. And like most people mentioned above the blacks felt too soft while the whites were a bit harsh. Well these are perfect. Found them to be very smooth without them feeling loose.

The HZRDUS GEN 5 was also "exclusive" for the GT series for a little bit until it got its full release a little later.

Looking at Titleist webpage when browsing through the shafts, the AMT shafts are named with a G2 suffix.

Do we know if there are any changes to the profiles from the OG AMT to G2? There seems to be no data or info on this anywhere.

Titleist GT2 9° - GD Tour AD UB 6X

Titleist TSR2 15° - Hzrdus Black 70 6.5  /  18° - GD Tour AD DI 7S

Titleist T200 5-9 - AMT Black 300S

It’s not so much that it was “exclusive” but more that Titleist releases new product at a time when basically no other OEMs do. This effectively means that some shaft offerings may only be available via Titleist for the first 6 months or so until most of the other OEMs release their new product the following spring.

Yea I was not a fan of the DG mid 115. Silver feels more like traditional DG to me, just lighter?

Correct, it’s actually a perfect blend between the black and the white and the og feel. At least to me.
I always found the white a little too heavy and stiff. Black too light and a little loose. This one felt perfect.

Hoping to gather some more info on the shaft. Wasn't able to try in X which would be my typical build. Stiff was surprisingly stable though for my ~90mph 7i swing speed

I know nobody seems to have anything on it, Im a little slower than you im at 85-86ish with my 7i and it was really good.  On titleist website there seems to be a typo about the specs.  It says the following.  1. The regular and XS are reversed on the weight, but also for the S (not sure about the X) the starting weight is at 101 not 103.

So I just received my new T250/T150 combo set a few days ago with AMT Silvers. I also have a set of Mizuno JPX925 Forged with DG Mid 115's. Subjectively, I prefer the feel of the DG Mid 115's overall as seems smoother to me than the AMT Silvers. Dynamically, I believe i'm getting exactly mid launch/mid spin from both shafts, but the shorter irons in the AMT Silver feel just like the AMT Whites I had in my previous T200 set. Which is to say they feel a little stiff/boardy. The 6 and 7 irons feel more like the DG Mid 115, and then the 5 and 4 irons feel even softer. If I had to choose one, I would lean towards DG Mid 115 but the AMT Silvers give me the performance/flight characteristics I need despite my subjective 'feel'. I will say that I much prefer them over the AMT Whites, which were punishing on mishits especially late in the round when you're tired..

Just tried them again and this is the shaft im going with. I was in between PX red and this and this won it on the feel side.

I’ve said on here a few times my holy grail shaft would probably be a tour white profile but starting about 10 grams lighter.  Someone took partial notes but didn’t copy down all of it. 😝

well, it will be interesting if anyone ever posts an EI or zone profile, but looking at the info it would suggest a bit softer profile.  Feel wise, I love a handle on the softer side but the stiffer the tip, typically the better.  That’s all a feel thing.  I just don’t prefer a mushy/muted impact feel. Was the primary reason I just didn’t love the Nippon 120 profile.

To be clear, just so it’s not misinterpreted, I haven’t tried that shaft personally.
