2025 Titleist Pro V1x Cracked !!

I have never seen this happen before but this morning a buddy had a Pro V1x crack. The ball was new from the sleeve to start the round and on the 5th tee  his Tee shot barely made it to the fairway ( approx 80 yards) He thought he made a horribly swing and didn't notice the ball had split until after the next shot barely got airborne and went about 125 yards. The balls were bought from our Country club earlier this year during the buy 3 get one free Titleist promo.  See photos and I would love to hear everyone's thoughts. The balls were in his climate controlled locker at the club.

I had this happen to me last month with one of the rct balls after about 10 drives. I was shocked as well. Havent had it happen since but still worrisome given I bought like 8 dozen lol

If bought from the club I'd discuss it with the pro there if he hasn't already.

 Did you read the post in it's entirety ?  It happened to my playing partner not me and I posted  for feedback and awareness not advice to get balls replaced.  I have been playing golf for almost 30 years and have never seen a brand new ball split like this.  

 

 Apparently another had it happen as well with a 2025 Pro V1X  ( My ball of choice )

Oh I read it. You wanted people thoughts and I gave you mine. It's not a big deal. I don't know what awareness is needed for something as uncommon as this. My feedback is that things like this happen and no manufacturer is 100% perfect. I'm not sure why you're getting upset.

My thoughts - definitely put a new ball into play.  That one is shot.

Well when they shout crap about the best ball in golf and charge through the nose for them it’s pretty fair to bring it up when they fail, it may happen, but, I was lead to believe there is something called quality control, obviously not at Titleist

I’ve lost count of the golf balls I’ve seen crack. It happens to all manufacturers.

Any product no matter how rigorous the testing can fail on rare occasion.  Doesn’t mean they now are an inferior brand or product.

A few balls out of the millions that they make. You have no clue what actual quality control is.

 I didn't post it to bash Titleist and as far as I'm concerned they are the best ball in golf. This is not a reflection on their QC or quality but rather an anomaly and this forum is where we discuss things like this.  Everyone's feedback is always welcomed.

Same. I’ve cracked a few myself over the years. I’ve always found the Chrome Softs the easiest to crack (maybe lower compression?). I used to keep pics on my phone when I first experienced it, but they were deleted as it happened more frequently.

Update....  Titleist saw a post I stared over at TT and reached out asking if I can send in the ball so R&D could inspect it.

Seems perfectly fine to post about this.  If people started coming out of the woodwork sharing stories about cracked '25 ProV1X balls, then the discussion would spike interest.  That's what happened with the Titleist irons, where the backplates were falling off.  

 

Good on Titleist for wanting the ball back, for analysis.  It's curious that the inner core busted as well as the outer; you can see a chunk of purple (inner) core trying to get through that crack.

And snell cover durability when taylormade bought the plant forcing dean to find a new supplier, and other things. 

 

Attacking someone over a post of fact? Not a good look and gives this forum a 'reputation' of bullies. It cracked. Titlest wants to look at it. Why is this the posters fault?

Thanks... I exclusively use Titleist Pro V1x balls so I didn't post this to bash the ball. The inner core probably was damaged on the second hit with a hybrid before it was found to be cracked but I'm no expert.

Let titleist deal with it, good they want it back to investigate. Never seen anything like that myself bar serious scuffs if I thin a wedge. However I have noticed the current gen of titleist balls, FOR ME, don’t seem as durable as previous gens. 
 

They aren’t worse than the competition from my experience, but I always found they were the best for durability. Now I’d say they’re about the same as the competition from my experience.
