Hybrid Shaft Recommendation

Hi all,

Looking for shaft recommendation for my hybrid. Have Denali black in my driver and 3w, UST Dart V in irons. I’ve done fittings for these clubs, but never a fitting for the hybrid. Can anyone recommend a hybrid shaft with similar profiles?

Denali black and Recoil Dart V are mid and tip stiff with a softer handle. Velo+ blue and HB and AD VF HY both fit this EI profile. VF HY is a closer match IMO in that it's mid-low launch/low spin much like the Denali black with the added benefit of being really smooth.

Thanks, I'll take a look at the VF HY. I have a Recoil Dart Hybrid in it now and just not loving it.

Check out Nippon NS Pro Modus GOST Hybrid, comes in 91g to 112 TX. All I will say is it feels very different.

I'll check it out. The Recoil Dart I have in it is 75g and feels too light. Good to see heavier options. Thanks

I have the 91g stiff going in one of my other 2 irons.

I think this is really good advice when looking at a new shaft.

I take it to the far end of the spectrum, using LA Golf whenever possible. I know I like their profile archetype, and the overarching "LA Golf profile" is the base of each of their shaft's design. This makes a very familiar feeling whenever I try one of their products. If I didn't love LA Golf's shafts so much, I would likely move to the KBS, Velocore, or Graphite Design family. Somewhere were I can get the same feel in my irons as in my wood shafts.

Anyhoo, matching the profile of a shaft you already enjoy is a great starting point. If that doesn't work, go for one of the many blueboard family profiles and work from there.

Very cool. When I switched to graphite iron shafts due to some off season injuries, I really liked the LA Golf, pretty close to the PX 6.5 I was playing. The Darts were identical in results, just cheaper 😄

The black profile wood shafts match up pretty nice to the iron shafts. My red headed step child hybrid has been long over due for a shaft upgrade. Hit it more than my 5 and 6 irons

Typical of hybrid shafts. Way too light. You could add 10+ grams of lead tape down the backside of the shaft near the balance point to see if you just need a little more weight to make it work. A lot cheaper than a new shaft.
