Looking for info on rare Sonartec SS-701 driving hybrids (20° & 23°) – ACCRA iSeries M3

Hey WRXers,

I recently picked up (or: I’ve had for a while) a pair of Sonartec SS-701 driving hybrids – one 20°, the other 23°. Both are built with ACCRA HY iSeries M3 shafts (stiff flex), and came with Miura headcovers.

From what I can tell, these are pretty rare – I’ve searched online and found almost nothing about this particular model as hybrids. I’m familiar with the SS-701 irons, but these heads are clearly hybrid/driving hybrid shapes – compact, clean, and definitely not iron conversions.

There’s no Miura marking on the heads themselves, but I’ve read about Sonartec’s past links to Miura/Royal Collection Japan. Wondering if anyone here has seen or played these hybrids before – or knows the story behind them?

Any insight into production history, original specs, or collector interest would be greatly appreciated!

Nothing to contribute to your search, but those look really nice, and cool head covers, I bet those are worth some money on their own. I remember when Sonartec hybrids were THE club to have, although I never sought one out myself, I usually had an Adams in the bag back then.

Limited US release of Japan Issue  Royal Collection model, from about time Sonartec bit the dust in US. Not particularly rare, at least the Royal Collection version, as ran across quite a few when lived in Hawaii. The discussion back then was that model was done by Endo Thailand, not Miura, but who knows with the mythos around contract creation of models?  Solid clubs either way that are quite playable 👍🏼
