P790 UDI and new PUDI…and TMB

Hey guys, anyone play or try both of these? What are the differences and similarities?

also, anything other than cosmetic differences between PUDI and “the bomber”

looks like they call the bomber a 1 iron but loft wise they seem the same.

Adding 716/718 T MB to this now…someone’s gotta know something

I gamed the 716 TMB and the UDI. Although the 716 was quite an older model it was really good. Much easier to shape than the UDI, that also means the UDI went a little straighter on the less than perfect shots. But that 716 had the biggest sweetspot you can imagine and was quite a bit easier to hit low stingers with than with the UDI. The UDI always felt like it wanted to launch the ball quite high for its 18 degrees loft. The 716 sure went lower with the same baseline swing and the same shaft.

(I might be a little biased as I loved the weight and balance of the 716, the UDI never felt that perfect, that is a very personal difference that has nothing to do with the quality of the club.)

I bought the “bomber” for a fair price, haven’t gotten it yet. In true WRX fashion, already looking for other options “just in case” and really like the look of the TMB.

Found a TMB 2 iron that is tempting me for sure. This may have put me over the edge 😂

I also had a g410 crossover but the offset is too much for me.

I have TMB718 in 2 & 3 irons. Both have heavy steel shafts in them. The 3 iron has a permanent spot in my bag but both are really easy to hit

Ever compared to a utility style iron with graphite shaft?

Try and find an original tour preferred UDI, it’s still the best and in tour bags

I have tried T200 with graphite in both the 2 & 3 irons. Honestly I preferred the 718 with steel so stuck with them. They feel like a cheat code. I rarely use the 2 iron though as my bag doesn’t change much. Bag setup is D, 4w, 3iron tmb, 4 - 60deg. I did muck around with dropping a wedge and going 48/54/60 so I could squeeze either the 2iron or mini driver in but prefer the 4 wedges

nice setup! I have a rough time with fairway woods, spin them a ton. I also never use them into greens, always off the tee so figured I’d give a low lofted iron a shot.

tough to find those TMB’s now in real good shape, they’re pretty old at this point.
