I'm late to the Wishon Forged Iron Party

I must say I am super impressed with the Wishon 575 mmc irons. On a whim, I picked up a 5 and 6 575 forged Wishon irons for cheap on ebay. These irons are amazing. At address the thin topline makes them look very easy to hit. And when you do hit them they feel incredible. I'm not the best ball striker in the world but even the mishits feel pretty good with these irons. So the iron offers a level of forgiveness for a small compact head. If you do manage to hit the center of the club face the feel is the softest most buttery feeling I have ever felt with an iron. The distance is comparable to any of the new forged irons offered by the majority of companies. All in all, I'm super impressed. Anyone else agree ?

You are indeed late to the party on these.

The blended set of blades/CB is my backup set. Great set of irons if you like a compact head.

Few irons look as good at address and have the softest feel as these. I fitted a ton of sets in many configs between the blade and cavity versions and just played my personal set last weekend in a ringer event - 36 rounds of butter.

Wishon makes really good working and feeling club heads in general, but i never understood why 555M was taken of the program, and no new model replaced it. It might be the demands for blade irons in general thats to low, but they was impressive forgiving for a blade when matched with the right shaft for the player, so i would rather have those as short irons (#8-#9-PW, GW), than any other blade on the marked.

If the plan is to build a combo set, using second hand heads, look for Wishon 555M for the short end. (Loft 40* and up dont have much benefits as Cavity back, so most can play blades from 40* loft and higher like Wishon 555M #8 iron has stock..)

Agree-- these are well over a decade old, but still a great design for better players. I made an ace with the 575mmc in 2014 and won a car. Ironically a Durango.... home of Wishon golf. One of my better players(I coached HS golf for 31 years) went to college and had his set lifted from his truck.. I offered these as a short term replacement... he never would give them back.. He is younger and better than me.. a good home for them. He loves them. He had played a custom fit set of Titleist.

It is a timeless design much like Maltby's TE Forged.
