Alright guys, the game is less than a week away. Who ya got in the Rose Bowl on the 4th?

I'm going with USC. I think they will win by at least two touchdowns. Everyone says I'm crazy for saying that, and maybe I am. We'll see.

14 of the last 17 times number 1 has met number 2, number 2 has covered. I think that stat fares well for the horns. There will probably be at least 6 first round picks out of this game so it's going to be an awesome game to watch. Hook 'em!!!!!!!

As a former Pac10 football player from the great state of Texas, I can only tell ya, it aint gonna be pretty. Those boys have played real football since Pluto was a pup. Not option left, option right, not 2 deep zone defenses against average recievers. No no, db's in the Pac10 man up, quartebacks run passing games with multiple progressions, running backs can run and catch. Vince Young is a wonderful college talent and will probably be a very servicable wide out in the NFL, but he has 2 progressions, throw it fast or run like hell. Some of you have predicted the overs, I don't think so, if you're Pete Carrol, hit em from every direction, control the clock, and make the wide reciever throw, it's not rocket science. This could be the biggest pay day for Vegas in the history of college football. I see it USC 21, Texas 17. The Trojans win 35 in a,row and go for 46 next year with a Cajun QB that Macky Mack couldn't get with his TV evangelist ways.

All the media have been picking USC and dismissing Texas out of hand for the most part. This is going to give them a huge mental edge. I also think USC has not faced a real defense all year.

Nice to see the pollsters got this one right. To bad Texas won't be ranked #2 on Thursday. I expect a high scoring, very entertaining game with USC beating the spread.

I absoluted hated the game.. and not only because Texas won..

 

1. Bush attemped lateral...when does he ever do this

2. USC's failure to hit Young...sure let him walk to the endzone a few times why dont you

3. Instant reply missed 2 biggies.. 1. Youngs knee was down 2. Texas interception ground ground cannot cause

4. Safety or CB for USC who battled the ball away instead of intercepting one of young passes

5. After USC last score the very short high kickoff...dude was putting it in the endzone all day

6. Whites lacklaster 4 and 2 run.. he should have treated it like a goaline

7. Helmet to chin... where the penalty..

LMAO at Texas was given a touchdown...ok so hes down...first and goal from the 5 with Vince Young playing the best college football game ever by one player on a big stage, you dont think he still scores?? id say 99/100 times he scores on 1st and Goal from the 4 on 4 downs.

 

And they missed the Texas INT which could of ended the game right there!

THe refs missed so many penalties you can't just call one they missed they miss soooo many holds, and ill admit it mostly on Texas.

SC deserved to loose that game. All their stars had let down games. Lateral? What was Reggie thinkin??? Looks like all the hype went to his head and he felt he could do no wrong. He also got shut down against the high speed Horns D. Doesn't bode well 4 his NFL career...

 

Johnny mentioned the kicks towards the end. In the end zone all game then all the sudden givin' the Horns the ball on the +30??? Just what u wanna give Vince when it really counts, a short field???

 

At least put Reggie in on the 4th and 2 as a decoy.

 

How many times did Frosty and the rest of the SC D get caught not staying at home and pay the price. He had been a star, and like Reggie, was a non-factor in the big one.

Whoever blames the SC loss on the bad calls or lack of reviews... Did u watch the game. Bad calls went both ways. SC just wasn't ready for an opponent of Texas' caliber.

I agree there were bad calls both ways; I wasn't very impressed with the officiating compared to the other BCS games.

 

Bottom line was everyone had already filled in USC as the 2005 National Champs and Texas came in and took it away!

 

Just liked last years Rose Bowl aganist Michigan it was a great game that came down to the final seconds and Texas came out on top.

as a oklahoma fan, i dislike both teams (usc for a 55-19 Word not allowed whooping and texas, because they are texas), but i thought texas's offense looked absolutely awesome. i thought there defense could play better and commited too many personal fouls. i thought usc just looked bad across the board. offense was not consistent and defense seemed confused much of the game. the only thing i give usc credit for is there defense tackled, wrapped players up versus texas' defense trying to knock players into the fifth row of the stands.

 

on the flip side, texas better enjoy the next 10 monthes because when reality is going to set in when my sooners take care of business this year with them in the cotton bowl.

I agree. SC had already mailed the National Championship title in b4 the game ever started. Skits on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Bush being followed around by ESPN, Matt dating this starlett going to this Hollywood party... Kinda seems that while SC was getting caught up in the hype and hoopla Texas was lyin' low and gettin' ready to kick sum Word not allowed.

I was at the game and thought it was great for several reasons.

 

1. The cream always rises to the top and we got to see the "real" heisman winner in action.

 

2. The look on the faces of USC fans was very different leaving the stadium than going in. They definitely weren't as arrogant.

 

This was the greatest game I have ever seen. :birthday:
