Prototype OnOff P-05 Driver

I got to try this Prototype OnOff P-05 driver today. It was shafted with a Roddio and I was left eyes wide open and jaw dropped after hitting it. For guys that have seen the 2008 OnOff Plus (black head) and the 2008 OnOff driver, this one is right in the middle of the two drivers. The OnOff Plus having the deeper face and lower ball flight and the Chrome Bottom OnOff having the longer head face to back and shallower face, higher hitting head...this P-05 driver is about as deep as the Plus but just a tad longer face to back. The sole is also a bit in the middle of the two retail drivers. It has a tungsten weight in the heel which is also just a bit bigger then the Plus but smaller then the regular and the shape is also right there in the middle of the two.

 

I have no idea if this driver will make it into production. The only word I heard was it was the Prototype for the 2008 heads. I also heard that this was the only Prototype they had left in the "tour van". Too bad for me because I loved it so much, I wanted one for myself.

 

Here are the pics....sorry...I only had my iPhone with me. I know, I should travel with the Canon at all times. :good: I'll try and take more pics this week comparing all three heads....with my good camera. :D

 

By the way...that bright pink OnOff Logo is not "stock". That's the current owner having a bit of fun with his new driver. :blink:

Actually before going into my OnOff "stage" I had a few full Tourstage bags woods through irons. I just think the OnOffs are hotter and more solid feeling then the Tourstage X Drives. Which really is not saying anything against Tourstage because they are very good equipment as well.

Please let us know if this is a standard hosel, it looks it in your pictures. I don't know if I like the current set-up and would prefer they replace it.

You would think..especially if you saw my retail Black Ox 60* I've been playing. Hot pink if a very predominant color on that one along with some silver. :good:
