You can buy those from tourspecgolf. I don't see any difference in those to what they are selling which is japan release or Uk. There has been talk on this forum of them coming to the states but no one had said for sure.

I think they are now 750-800 5-pw on tourspecgolf's website.

I have the r7 forged and love them!

dont lie to golfwrx we all know they are japan forged, they have reverse offset, which means more offset in the short irons than the long irons, its a japanese tradition, noone in the states likes offset in the short irons and none in the long irons, its bc they dont have to hit it far, their golfcourses are not long so they have no use for long irons, I have had these irons............terrible for US players!!! If you like R7 Forged stay with the originals tons of offset on these!!!

There are sets on the U.S. PGA Tour that are COMPLETELY different specs than the Japan version. Much, MUCH heavier weights and standard American offset. I think the 3 iron starts at 344g. :man_in_love: No Japanese businessman would be able to play that.

Don't be so quick to call people liars unless you know for a FACT that they are.

You couldnt be any more wrong. It has reverse FACE PROGRESSION which isnt offset. The lower number in face progression means more offset, the higher is less. Dont lie to people.

Well I am one of the poster's above that said they are the same as Tourspec golf, however I just recently got a set off a guy, and they have standard american offset. I used to have a set of the R7 Forged so I know what everyone is talking about, I did not like the way the PW looked thick and had terrible offset compared to the 4.

However my set looks "normal" actually thinner top line than my buddies cally x-tours, and slightly smaller as well. I posted a picture of my set. Here is a pic of mine. I will post more topline pictures. I think these clubs are now selling in the UK.

How is the loft on the PW. I had the 04 RAC Cbs that had a bit of the reverse progression. I had the 8 &9 bent 1 degree weaker and the pw 2 degrees weaker (from the stock 47). You wouldn't believe how much "better" they looked.

I love the black finish. Tell us how it holds up.

They are actually holding up really well. From the top view they look similar to the Callaway x-tours except are thinner top line, and smaller overall. But I would say they are similar in offset.

I do have to wipe them down after most rounds, especially if its wet. The only thing that really marks them is if hit at a "sand filled" range. Which I avoid as well as mats. On the Course play really does not do much, other than eventually the ball pattern wear marks will probably show faster, which I like the look of my sweet spot getting worn.

Back and face have milling. Back is like tp forged rac model. face milling is pretty strong, when I hit a shot afterwards I have to wipe and pluck "white" ball peices off. Lots of bite which eventually will wear down to the perfect amount, but being new they really grab the ball.

How is the feel and forgiveness? I know it is quite subjective, but can you compare them to anything you have played in the past? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

They are pretty forgiving. The r7 forged model was a bit more forgiving, these are just as soft. I would say they are pretty close to the x-tours from callaway. More forgiving than the taylormade rac tp model with the raised back. I had a set of tour 300's that were pretty soft but not as forgiving (returned them to seller because they were not in the condition stated)

I don't know if that helps but that is what I used to play.

your black set,, LOL you got those off ebay!! i saw those same pics on ebay and i emailed the seller!!! they are the Japanese ones, that he just had refinished!! LOL!!

these TP Forged irons are NOT in the US,, only japanese doemestic market!! the japanese irons are NOT reverse offset!!! it is , as the other poster said, reverse progression.. MAN,, some of you guys are really misinformed.

I never said I did not get them off ebay!

What I said is that they do not have the same offset as the r7 forged that I bought from Tourspec. The offset is no where like my r7 forged model.

I never tried to say they were a different model. In one post I said if everyone keeps saying the japanese TP fored had the same r7 offset these do not as I have owned both! Never passed them off as anything else! Everyone knows the black is almost always done by BOS. Look at my signature you waste product.

Some of the posters on this site are just plain..

Are these comments really necessary? Does calling someone names make you point stronger, more valid or more believable? Please refrain.

I have DGs200's in mine and prefer them over project X shafts. I think the ball flight is mid level for me.

I am thinking about selling my black ones, and getting another set of chrome ones. I am interested to see what the difference is between the japan released version and the UK released version is.

Here are some more pics

TOUR VAN ISSUED. That's all I have to say!!

NOT TOUR VAN ISSUE!!! Taylor Made will not let it's players play an iron which will not be sold retail. (and at the moment there are no plans to release this or any forged club at the retail level)

This holds true for most manufacturers. Ping has shown and let its Tour guys hit the Japan release S57 irons but would not let them play the irons.

I wrote to Toruspecgolf in reference to the "Reverse Offset" discussed on these irons.

My response was that the #'s listed are not offset of the club but Face Progression for the TP Forged as are most Japanese listed clubs. The true offset is taking half the hosel size minus the face progression. This results in the TP Forged having a normal offset from 3-PW.

Taylormade confirmed this through a second e-mail.

Dont know if this helps anyone. Not saying anyone is wrong or anything just passing along information.

And yes I do own these will be putting KB Shafts in next week. If anyone has any questions fire away.
