When Enough Is Enough

I'm 35 years old and I've been playing golf for over 10 years now. I started with my dad's Spalding Match Play blades and persimmon woods and about a year or so later bought my first set of Arnold Palmer Axioms. I have loved the game whether or not I could play as much in these last couple of years.

I've seen:

Sergio make his splash; Duval winning The Open; Toms winning the PGA with his trusty bi-matrix shafted fairway wood; Beem’s break out year; Els go from Lynx, Taylormade, Titleist to Callaway; Vijay's run & reign @ no. 1; Janzen win the US Open; Leonard's Ryder Cup glory; Phil Mickelson breaking through the major obstacle and going from Yonex, Titleist to Callaway; Annika’s dominance; Pepper as a player; Laura Davies being a weekly contender; Lopez playing strong; Meunier-Lebouc’s breakout year; Pak and Park dominate play and Webb’s being the DD of the LPGA tour when DD was running it on the PGA(even down to the shades).

And so on and so on.

So it is without a doubt that as an African American male seeing Tiger's 1st Masters win was special. I know what it's like to walk on to a course and be treated as if I didn't belong there forget that I might actually know what I'm doing. I know what’s it’s like to automatically be asked questions about Tiger Woods the moment something golf related comes up at work, on the course or where ever else I may be. From that standpoint I see his perseverance and the more superseding greatness in clutch moments that defines champions.

There is no doubt in my mind that we are witness to potentially the greatest golfer who ever lived.

That being said…the Golf Channel makes me sick! I love golf of all kinds and I’m extremely excited that we golfers have our own channel.

Enough about Tiger already! Immelman won the Masters less than 3 days ago and what is the big story? Knee Surgery?! Even having the audacity to have it scrolling across the bottom of the screen during the new Big Break like a golfing legend died or something. Every day is about Tiger there and then they give him a week during his birthday too.

Can we talk about Choi who has been playing so dominantly? How about I don’t know more Creamer, Ochoa, Sorenstam, Webb, Gulbis or Grenada? How about Ochoa qualifying for the HOF already…wow! 2^nd youngest ever in only her 6^th Oh I don’t know, Langer has been playing great with 2 wins and 6 top 10’s this year. season on tour.

I admire what he’s done but goodness gracious! Enough already!

I agree.He's been brainwashed by his Dad "the former Green Beret" to believe he will be the best and until he reaches Jack's total of majors the MEDIA needs to stop putting him so high on hog with their brainwashing.Hey the last I looked the best player right now is Lorena Ochoa.Go ahead,I know there are hater's out there so lay into me it's just my opinion.
