Nick Faldo's Equipment

Here is a photo of Faldo's bag at the 1996 US Masters consisting of the Mizuno TP-19's, T-Zoid Woods and the Odyssey Dual Force Rossie II Putter. He had a choice of two putters that week as they were both differently weighted to contest with the various speeds of green conditions at Augusta.............not carried at the same time of course along with the additional Mizuno TP wedges he had aswell.

 

 

 

 

Those irons are sick.. I've only been playing seriously for 7 oe 8 years so the persimmon and small headed drivers/woods are beyond memory but I LOVE a classic looking blade *drool*

Anybody know whose Mizuno Tour Bag that is above as it certainly isn't Faldo's with the blue and yellow Swedish related logo on the side...................could it be Mathias Grönberg !?

It's funny as the bloke standing there looks like a cross between Sellberg and Langer but neither of these and the other aforementioned Swedish counterparts ever used Mizuno !?!

I'm pretty sure Grönberg used Mizuno back then as did Michael Jonzon but it doesn't look like him unless it is a three ball and he is out of shot !?

Actually, I've even got a photo of Jonzon playing TP-19's, somewhere.

I'm sure the guy with curly locks is a caddy (if he isn't he's a dead-ringer), he's got that look about him, all caddies back in the day had.

Looking at the tournament entry list and their final positions it could well be Eduardo Romero however I don't remember his bag having a blue and yellow logo on the side but it did have an Aerolineas Argentinas logo on it somewhere !?

It was the 1992 Peugeot Spanish Open won by Andrew Sherborne with Faldo finishing second by a shot.

Faldo shot a 66 in the final round whereas Sherborne managed a 71 although he did shoot a 63 the previous day.

I have no idea if he qualified for that tournament, but that guy looks like Dennis Edlund, another fine Swedish player who did play Mizuno for a quite a few years.

Are you sure that's 1992? Looks more like 1989 considering the clothing and what appears to be Andy Prodger in the background?.
I think you are right about it beeing a swede's bag as you can see the "Hello Sweden" logo.

Yes, I think so to. He did qualify, and made the cut, 69, 71.

What about the Mizuno bag. Is it a tourbag. Seem like the umbrella is on the outside and the bag is smaller.

It's definitely not Faldo's bag and as lead already mentioned I don't even think that is a tour bag.

It might be someone in the audience looking like him. Just behind Edlund we see a guy with a what looks like a yellow caddy vest. That sure is not Fanny and so Its probably Edlunds caddy.

lead, you are right in saying that shirt in 1992 is very similar to the one in wore in 1989.
