Do you listen to music while you practice?

Yes i have a pair of Oakley Thumps.. love them.. couldn't hit 200+ balls a week with out them..

 

Then you must hate golf....200 balls isn't a lot- IMO.

not to get off topic on this subject again but why are some people so abrasive in the forums now days.

 

your post was completely out of line and off topic, you do not know his time constraints and situation. WRX is an AMAZING place to talk and discuss golf with a bunch of great people. I personally dont want that to change. They (the mods) do a great job with very little censorship but if this keeps up they will have to make changes....changes that are not nessisary. PLEASE for the sake of WRX and all of the members, if you dont have anything nice or constructive to say DON"T say it.

i don not mind not hearing the impact.....

 

 

 

feel of impact is much more reliable for me anyway. taking sound out of the equation allows me to focus on my hands and what they are doing. it really has revolutionized my practice regime. i used to put in tons of hours on the course....i am now an official range rat. it helps that my practice facility is incredible and there isn't a shot i can think of that i am not able to practice. but i really have truly come to enjoy practicing...almost as much as playing. even if it's only for an hour....i love it. i really just love to hit good golf shots. keeping my swing grooved with maintenance is so helpful that when i finally get out to the course...there are very few swing thoughts that i actually worry about now.

 

music does that for me. that ipod is worth its weight in gold.

LOL! I have been around those before. I had two beer and cig guys who borrowed course clubs and one was in flip flops. They were taking pictures of each other and yelling yeehah. Just stupid but if they were having a good time then great. Just stay away or keep it under control. Smokers and cell phone talkers bother me more at the range.

Well - I never did listen to music when at the range.... Until today. I have my iPhone plugged in as I did the lawn, as it drowns out the mower, (and I can still hear if I get any calls from work). I decided to head out to the range and left them in.

 

I wasn't sure if i would be distracted by them or not, but I love the tracks I had on, and surprisingly I found the session to be an exceptionally good one. It didn't matter what tempo the song was, as it wasn't the reason for listening. I believe the comfort of a familiar, favorite song was the "relaxing" factor. Yeah, I still hit a stinker or two, but overall, I found the practice to be exceptional. I may do it more often.

 

In fact, if it weren't for the social nature of my rounds, I think I'd wear them while playing....

Okay I answered that yes I do, but that's just for your music in the workplace report; I don't listen to music when I'm on the range, but that's just because it feels weird to listen to music when golfing; I'm usually with a friend or my dad or something so I talk while I hit, or I keep to myself and just don't bother with music; I do love listening to music and listen 2-4 hours per day. I listen whenever I do homework and that type of thing, and it helps me concentrate and not get bored, I always get homework done well and efficiently while listening to music which is why I get frustrated that you're not allowed to listen to music in school (I'm 16), although some people would ruin it.
