Miura Tournament Blade and LE Blade comparison

I have had several people inquire about the comparison between the Miura New Tournament Blade and the LE Blade (aka Baby Blade, aka Limited Edition Blade).

Here are the comparison pics of the LE Blade and the New Tournament Blade.
The LE is on the LEFT side of each of the pics / Tournament Blade on the Right side.
These two irons are the 6 iron.

Main Differences:
- The LE is about 1/4" shorter in overall length
- the toe profile is a little more squared off on the LE
- The LE is made in limited quantities (about 100 sets per year)
- Visually the LE is a hair smaller at address
The last two pictures might be the most telling difference. I have the LE Blade in front of the Tournament blade so you can see the length difference and shape difference.

The ball flight, spin, distance, topline thickness, sole width and grind are all the same.

Both Blades are equally forgiving...but the LE may be a little more "metally" intimidating since it is a hair smaller(.25") in heel-toe length.
Well struck shots are butter and go like laser beams...

These are BLADES (not oversize CB's) so both sets are fairly demanding. Misshits don't kill your joints..but these are blades so misshits are sometimes not pretty....

I would not say they are any easier to hit than other OEM blades, and I would also say that OEM Blades are not any easier to hit than Miuras (they are all blades) ...but to me the Miuras sure are prettier and feel a whole lot better....

Playability: I must say (for me anyway) there is no better club in golf than Miura Blade. When I miss, I miss no matter what the club, but well struck shots are so much better with these it isn't funny. Distance, control and feel are much better. I also concentrate on the shot much more with these rather than getting lazy with my swing and my game is rewarded. If you want a club to be lazy with...maybe this isn't the one, but if you want a club that will reward you and one that you CAN get better with...look no further. Just picking one up you may not be happy...but with the proper fitting..you will have the best sticks available.

Great side by side views. My son loves his "regular size" blades and I have never had a better set of irons than my 301's.

 

The custom Miura wedges we got from you have been great as well.

Also the hosel on the L.E. Blade is a touch bigger (I forgot the mm but it is bigger than the Tourny blade). I own the L.E. blade and they are so smooth and sweet.

Do you mean bigger as in girth? Or length?

He means the hosel on the LE blade is a touch wider in diameter. It is less than .5mm wider but it is just slightly wider. No effect on the play at all...just a hair wider diameter..the only effect is the type of ferrule you use.
