Low Spin Shaft for My Titleist Hybrid

I am looking for a shaft in my 21* Titleist 585H Hybrid that has low spin and actually has a penetrating ball flight. I need an X Stiff. My current shaft is the ProForce V2 Stiff. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

The best hybrid shaft I've come across is the Matrix Ozik Altus - http://www.golfwrx.com/BagChatter/2008/02/...d-shaft-review/ You can hit it both high and low and it does get the ball out there.

I like either the epic or vs proto for hybrid shafts, myself. I have hit both and went with the vs proto's only because I launched them a little lower than epic.

Sounds like you may like a Fujikura Speeder 904HB.

The Matrix Altus is a high launching shaft - not the choice! Very good quality though!

 

Aldila VS Proto Hybrid shaft is a great option - low spin - flat trajectory! The nice part about this shaft is that the tip is not so stiff that it makes the club totally unresponsive and impossible to hit. This is what often happens in shafts that are designed to launch the ball low as the shafts become so overly tip stiff that they only work on shots that are struck perfectly.

 

Another great option is the Graphite Design YS-Q - not sure what the Tip diameter is on the Titleist but if its a .370 you would probably want to tip the YS-Q by 1/2" to bring the torque down a hair. I'm currently using the new Graphite Design Throttle shaft in my Tour Burner driver and it is the most responsive low launching shaft I have ever used. Unbelievable feel!

I thought that Ozik was high launch?

The Ozik is a high launch shaft, but is also very low spin, which helps create the penetrating ball flight. This shaft will produce a ball flight that reaches its apex quicker than other shafts and just flattens out as opposed to a more traditional arc flight. However this shaft is not for you if you need both a low launch and low spin shaft that will produce more of a stinger type shot.

It actually has a very controllable flight so you can hit it high or low although the natural. Penetrating trajectory to me means that it goes through air with minimal ballooning or being affected by wind and the Altus does this very well as you get a flat trajectory.

 

The VS Proto is one option but if you like the feel of Aldila shafts the NV is probably a better bet.

Another vote for the Fujikura 904 HB. Feels stiff as a lead pipe but it was the only shaft, after trying many, that I can keep low.
