Once you go JDM you don't go back. The quality and the craftsmanship is hard to explain to those who have not experienced it.

You can be assured that you are on the leading edge of technology. Many of the Japanese releases of today are the USDM releases next year, or the year after....

Japanese golf equipment is top shelf alright and the best in design with the best manufacturing techniques to boot, but consider this when the sticker shock wears off...quite a bit of the price is the Exchange Rate...Yen to the Dollar. Yes, you are laying out a bunch of $$$ to buy JDM golf gear but the return is huge and at the Net Present Value of Engineering, Design and Manufacturing when compared to USDM technology/pricing it becomes a bargain. Who doesn't want to be on the leading edge??

hi there! i am new here and really have been enjoying this site. i stublmedupoun the tour spec site and i am amzed at the amount of gear there.

 

can someone explain to me why japan is so far ahead of the states tech wise? why are so many lines of gear not avbalible here even from vendors such as mizuno, callaway , titelst etc?

 

also, is tour spec a safe site to order stiuff from? any horror stories?

 

i have been eyeing up manythigns on that site, iomic grips, wedges, shafts esp. thanks!

I have two SRIXON W-506, one w/ProLaunch 65s and the other w/stock SV-3004s.

The two of them taught me what to expect from the SRIXON Z-rw w/stock SV-3014 that I bought last November.

I can't wait for the new SRIXON Zr-800 to cross over to this side of the Pacific. I live in the province of Québec

in eastern Canada and SRIXON doesn't even have a retailer in my province. I bought my first W-506 new

at a golf show in Montreal (w/ProLaunch) three years ago, the other W-506 at a Golf club pro shop surplus store

last year and the Z-rw from the same place. The last two were Demos.

 

The Zr-800 is listed at 71,400 yens on Tourspec .That would set me back about $930 Cnd not incl. ship/Duty...

Since I would have to sell my house to buy it new, I'll be gaming my Z-rw for the next four years or so but,

NOW I have a goal in life.........don't I ?

Oh! I'm a 64 yr/old 11 hcp with five years exp. and many,many lessons in the first two of those.

The sweetspot on all three is no smaller than other Big Name Brands that I tried. (Call,Tinny,TM, Cobra..ect)

Tourspec sells in USD and when the CAD was at par or higher, it was a great deal relatively for Canadian shoppers. So far they have not raise their USD prices yet due to strong yen. There are Japanese online stores that sell in JPY but usually at a discount to MSRP.

correct me if i am wrong, but wouldnt JDM stuff be made for the asian market. and most asians are much smaller than than people in the US as far as build and swing speed ect. than being said if JDM gear is engineered to enhance the game of a customer with a completely different game than mine, is my on draw to JDM stuff the mysterious alure that its so hard to come by?

Don't want to correct you on anything. Since this is the Imported subforum, one does not need to argue the relative merit of JDM vs domestic. For your info, the only thing different on JDM gear is the flex rating on some shafts and irons could be 0.25 to 0.5" shorter than NA standard. Drivers' lie angles would range from 58 to 60*. You just have to know the spec of the gear and your spec so as not to make mistake on your purchase. With the internet commence nowadays, JDM gears are easily available to anyone.

i just wasnt sure about the specs. dont get me wrong i know that miura, vega, ect are way better than most domestic stuff, it just sems like some people will by anything that says JDM on it
