Trying to Replace my old 3wood and 5wood?

Hi all,

 

I little early explanantion.

 

Right now, I have an older 3 wood and 5 wood, that I do hit fairly well, but as usual I would like to upgrade.

 

Driver ~ - 270 +

My 3wood is ~ 240-250

My 5wood is ~ 220 +

 

So, I would like to possible replace them with 1 wood and 1 hybrid, but I'm just not sure what degrees of loft to use.

 

Now, I will tell you now, that Im a big fan of titleist so that is the route I am probably heading,

Im also a pretty good golfer, so I dont really have a problem hitting any specific clubs, 3, 4 iron etc. so loft isnt an issue.

 

My question is As far as woods go, the lofts that titleist have in the 909F3 are 13°, 15°, 18

Right now my 3 wood has a loft of 15.5°. What does the 13° replace? I assume the 15° is normal 3wood and 18° is 5 wood.

 

And with they Hybrid:

The lofts that Titleist use are 15°, 17°, 19°, 21°, 24°,

What would the 15° hybrid replace?

 

Overall, I just want to have to big a gap in my clubs,

I just wouldnt mind some recommendations in loft suggestion, or what you might have done yourself.

The 13* is a strong 3 wood. It will give a bit more distance over the 15*, but only if you have the SS to elevate it off the deck.

The 15* hybrid is an alternative to a 3 wood, for those who have trouble elevating a 3w or those who just want more control.

 

What loft is your 3 iron?

Im going to assume it's about 21-22*

 

If you go 13* 909F3, then perhaps a 17* 909H, you'll have a 4* gap through there.

If you go the 15* route, then I would recommend the 17* if you want to keep roughly the same distance as your 18* 5 wood. Due to the shorter shaft of the hybrid, the slightly stronger loft will help make up for that. I hope this helps.

Yeah,

 

My 3 iron is 21°,

 

Ive never had a problem elevating any woods of the deck, so I dont think that is a huge concern, if anything, I get to much, that is why I was considering the F3 club.
