Driver Spin Too High

I went to a local golf retailer today to try out some new clubs for the upcoming season. I tried many drivers, hybrids, and a couple 3 woods and irons. All in all I thought that the clubs were good but no reason to upgrade. In fact I'm going to save some money and buy last years.

Now on to the problem. I tried out the following drivers:
TM Limited 9.5 w/Matrix Ozik stiff
Ping Rapture 9.5* w/TFC stiff
Callaway FT-5 9.5* w/UST ProForce V2 65-X
Titleist Comp 10.5* w/Matrix Ozik stiff
Titleist 909D3 9.5* w/VooDoo stiff

My spin rate is rediculous. The lowest spin rate I achieved was 3300 with the rapture. All the others were between 3800-5000. My SS was between 106-111 the whole time. I had around 2000RPM avg. of side spin (fade) every shot. On some of the shots I hit a slight pull but no matter what the side spin was right around 2000. Not once was it a draw side spin. When I tried to hit a little draw I got a push fade with still relatively the same numbers.

I am loosing a good 30-40 years because of this. I'm not sure if it's because of the pull fade or what. But even when I hit a straight fade the results were the same. The numbers and swing were consistent. I had solid contact almost every shot. My only misses were slightly off the toe which happened around three times.

What causes such high driver spin rates?

Many times high spin rate happens due to a negative angle of attack. Work on moving the ball forward in your stance, teeing the ball up a bit higher and dropping your back shoulder a bit. It will make your impact more on the upswing which will both increase your launch angle and lower your spin rate. I have been working on this for a while now and have brought my spin rate down to 2400 from 2900-3000 without switching shafts. I also increased my launch angle by about 1.5*. In the end the fix was simple and I gained about 12 yards.

Thanks for the reply. I was easily able to adjust my ball position on the monitor and varied my launch angle from 9* - 15* to see what the results were. They were the same. My normal launch angle is around 12*. I don't think I'd want to raise that up too much more. Any other advice?
