TP Reax 65 stock shaft by Graphite Design

Please those who know and have played this shaft

Just picked up a new Super Quad R7 TP with the two tone white top and black bottom color scheme, with the TP badge on the top center of the shaft.
It says on the shaft- Reax Superfast 65 gram designed by Graphite Design.
What can you fellow member's tell me about this shaft.
Tip is soft, medium firm?
Kick point is medium, or high?
Torque is about what?
Low, medium, or other spin delivery shaft?
Plays like a YS-6 or another Graphite Design shaft model that is comparable?
What playing characteristics can I expect?
For a smooth swinger with medium tempo, or what?
True to flex of weak or stiff in load profile?

I can not find anything on this shaft, only info on the Fuji Rombax that was also stock on the R7 TP Super Quad...nada on the Graphite Design model.

It sounds like you got the shaft from the Burner TP in your Superquad. As far as I know Graphite Design didn't make a shaft that was offered stock in the Superquad TP. If your white top has flames on the back then it's from a Burner TP. There are ton of threads here about the characteristics of that shaft if you search under "Burner TP Graphite Design". Lot's of people were comparing it to a Pershing although when I had it I didn't think so much as it didn't seem counterbalanced like the Pershing and it didn't seem as smooth feeling.

Thank you very much. It does have the flames on the back. I got it at the new giant Golfsmith here in the California Desert (quite a nice superstore) with great staff, as I know equipment being a 25+ years in golf. You jogged my memory with your post. I remember how all the Super Quads that were released that I ever saw had that shaft with the yellow, red and black color shafts and were Fuji made.

This must have been a special club that Golfsmith got. There is not a bit of sign this shaft was not the original, as the hosel is so pure in color with the serial # perfect. We all know once you change shafts that the hosel will have a slight discoloration from the heat gun.

 

I had a Buner TP back when, and it is as you state that shaft I believe. Do you think someone ordred the driver with that shaft special from Taylor Made?

General Patton I thank you very much for the post and insight. I wonder how it will play with the Super Quad head. On the state of the art fitting computer in the giant indoor hitting range my numbers were amazing for me. I have a smooth tempo with the driver and 95 mph swing speed.

I was getting a nice12*-13* degree launch and I think I recall 130 'ish ball speed with just a hair over 3000 spin. 230 carry and and 255+ distance. My face was almost always square with tight dispertion.

How did we ever know what driver to hit before these $100,00.00 computers?

It beat out my gamer the Adams A49015D with an Ozik Mtrix stiff. I also tried the new Speedline, Ping Rapture 2009, Diablo, FT-iQ, R9, Titleist 909D2, FT-9. All my numbers were far superior with this driver over the latestest and greatest on the Demo rack.

I agree it not quite like a Pershing. I have played that fine shaft in a Ping Raputre and this shaft feels a lot different. Just a smooth loadable feel for my moderate ss and tempo.

This new and unusal Super Quad R7 was just siitting alone in the corner of the close out rack!

The weight set up in it is a strong draw set up as from heel to toe the weights are 14,1,1,2.

$229.00 new ( buy no weights or wrench) the store said come on back and we will change the weights free anytime though. Think it is a great deal since it is new.

I am off to the range this morning to see the true ball flight, but if my #'s are any sign of a good fit for me, then it should work. I will let the thread know.

The R9 for those interested was a solid club, but the numbers were not for me at all.

Looks a great deal like the R7 limited to me.
