2009 taylormade tp forged irons jdm

I remember seeing them on bst and thinking long and hard but I obviously slept on them too long. any other heads out there either of you would compare them most closely to? or perhaps a combo of characteristics from other JDM?

I know, let's start with idbl, since the 3 of us love those so much, how would these compare, then just go from there

Although I don't think they are (and I didn't have them side-by-side), the TPs seem a bit more compact and beefy than the iDBLs...in a good way. I thought the iDBLs were the best feeling CBs outside the 302s but the TPs feel every bit as good as the 302s (and it pains me to admit that about a TM product!). So think offset closer to iDBL and feel of Epon 302 and you'll have a good idea of what the TPs are like.

they are softer than pretty much everything i have
and very much like epon 302s for feel. but nohting like them to play
they have close to the thinest sole of any iron, but a slightly thicker topline which gives them a really nice soft feel

idbl are def clickier than these. these came with x100 as stock shafts , which didnt even see one hit till i pulled them .
the modus 120s in them are just the most sensational match . can not want for more.
very much a players cavity with close to the perfect muscle cavity back.

off set is minimal.
can do anything with them, they are extremely workable.

any conditions suit although i find them best on slightly softer turf.

if its a we day out, oh man they are unreal!

those who have played both 08 and 09 tp forged, how similar/different are they from each other?
i picked up a set of 08 tp forged with s200 shafts a couple of weeks ago, and they are amazing. they feel softer than my other irons (mizuno mx300 and srixon i-506).
08 is so good, now i am interested in 09.

mind if I ask where you got them? I'm on the hunt for 09, but also curious to know if they are the same or very similar to the 08. how's the topline and offset on the 08?

i found it on ebay. i was worried about the clubs being fake but the pictures cleared showed the 3 dots on the tp logo and no underscore on the 6 iron so i went for it. 3-pw for $250, they were in such nice condition i had to get it.
the topline was sorta thick for me (i-506 has thin topline which i love) at first so it took some time to get used to. compared to mx300's topline, theyre very similar in thickness but 08tpforged's is rounder. there is a little bit of offset, about the same as mx300.
