2009 taylormade tp forged irons jdm

has anyone been lucky enough to try these yet? any reviews out there someone could point me too. these look pretty darn amazing! i am always looking for another set of irons. considered the tour preferred b's but i don't think i have the game to ht a no offset club..lol

The 09's just hit the market, so reviews will be tough to come by. I will comment on my 08's, which might tide you over until you can get reviews on the 09's. :friends: They two models look very similar, with the 09s having ever so slightly less offset throughout the set and perhaps a slightly more shallow cavity.

 

Anyway, I had played Miz MP 30's, 33's and 60's before moving to the TP's. I was looking for slightly more forgiveness, which is what the TP's provide, as they are appreciably more forgiving. Top line is perfect for me, offset is just right to my eye, and their feel is softer than or equal to the Miz. I had Joey Kwok work them up for me with KB Tour shafts, which fit this head very well.

 

That brings up one point - off the shelf the swing weights were all over the place. Joe had to add up to 7 grams of weight using the TM tour weight cartridge system on some of the irons. Without his tweaking, I would not have been very happy with the build specs.

 

I have tried to wander and look at other clubs, but so far, nothing comes close to the TP's.

I had the last years version and am going to move to this years version. My order is already in. Last version was a solid club. Very forgiving. I unbelievably sold them because I thought I would stick with either my MP-32's or TM TP MB's because I thought they looked better. Well, playability sometimes is more important than looks, who would have thought. So when I saw the 2009 versions come up I was in love, again. These look awesome, with forgiveness of cavity back but a more blade look from the top. They are also much cleaner looking than the last version. The MB's have been sold and I'm going to get rid of the MP-32's somehow just to make sure I stop jumping around and stick with the 2009 TP's.

I don't recall exactly. It's not cheap, but is worth it to me.

Gents, I've been playing the stateside version of the R7 TP's for 2 years or so. They have DG S300's in them. Just bought the '08 forged version with Flighted Rifle 6.0's and awaiting their arrival. Can anyone comment on they're thoughts as to how these 2 clubs will play in comparison? Obviously I like the R7's, but all the good comments on the forged version turned me into a 'ho and I bought a set.

TMcrazy - what type of trajectory did you get with the TP Forged? New pictures have been uploaded to Tour Spec Golf and these look beautiful!!!

I have the Burner Forged from Japan now and have the TP Forged on the way.

 

** CAUTION **

 

Japanese Irons come flat and short. At least mine did. I play 1.5 UP and these were 2 flat. 3.5" difference. Didnt realize that today when I was playing my first round and I was stroking everything on the button and it was all leaking right then I notice my divots were a bit off and I knew something was up. Took them in and on a l/l machine and bam!

I don't know about the marketing works in the US tho. "JLPGA tour target mode".....

It works in Japan I guess, knowing JLPGA is more popular than JPGA.

Saw your pics, I can't really tell, what's the relative size of the heads? Compare the Japan Forged Burners to AP2s....thanks.

They are amazingly close in size to the AP2's with the Burner forged being slightly larger heel to toe, and a hair taller toe also, but their sole width might be equal to a tiny bit narrower on the heel and toe but same in the middle.

i just checked with tm japan vs us tm and the LIE andlges are BOTH the SAME!!!,, i know that the dgs shafted jdm are 1/4" short,, BUt the lie's are the same for US or JDM..

before you state things,, check your facts.. cuz your statement is wrong!!
