Anyone else blown away by the PING V2 Rapture FW's

I have been playing the Ping 09' V2 Rapture Fairway woods since their release. I play 2-3 times a
week and practice a great deal too. They are offered in 2 stock shafts. I chose the Mitsubishi Rayon
Javln 70 Stiff flex shafts ( two tone silver and meduim blue in color), Ping also offers a stock 939 D whatever light whippy stock one too, good only for seniors.

These are flat out performers! Nice low boring trajectory, long as ever distance wise, great off tight fairways or rough, awesome off the tee, just A+ all the way for me.
Anyone else found these to be the sleeper's of the year in the fairway wood catagory?

Lucky for me I found the Adams A4 forged, these Ping FW's and the new Cameron SS 2.6 Newport standard weight. It will be a better golf year due to these outstanding NEW equipment releases that are now in my bag.

Just not a lot of talk here on the WRX about the Rapture V2 fairway woods.

I think if you talked to alot of retailers, there isn't a whole lot of excitement about ANY fairway woods right now. It isn't because there aren't great ones out there though. People figure, "Why buy a fairway wood when I can get one free with a premium driver purchase right now?"

I'm excited to try the 16* 3wd...going to pick it up today after sticking an Epic in it.

I think it will be perfect "4 wood" for me and fill gap between driver and 20* hybrid.

 

I love the look of the head. I thought original Rapture was too big, like a mini-driver, and the G10 too low profile. I wished they made something in between the two...and now they do. But I still may go back to the trusty CB2 5 wood as my only wood....just too good.

I really like the look of the V2 fw, but I'm surprised that 16* is the lowest loft offered - why not a 14 or 15. I hit the 16 at a recent PING demo day, and was surprised by how hard it felt - not necessarily bad, but it did have a really hard feel compared to my F3 15* which has a very solid and soft feel.

Asked Ping about the lofts on the fairways -- because it is a low spin head, they needed to get the loft up -- so the 16 (get it digitally lofted) IS a 3 wood.

 

I was impressed by the V2 Fairways - the 3 wood was easy to get up in the air with the right shaft. Next to the Bobby Jones Fwys, it is one of the easiest to play. I did not care for the Javelin shaft, thought it spun too much and actually preferred the stock green shaft in the correct flex. I thought the ball felt fine off the club but it was a demo day last October. Must update.

To one post the 16* 3 wood goes every bit as far as any 15 degree 3 wood I have owned honestly.

 

To the other post, yes they are not real soft feeling at impact, but nothing to dislike just diffferent.

 

They are the perfect shape, face height, and man do they work. Distance, workability, looks at address, and all out 5 star performance!

I just got this club and to me it's every bit as hot as any Callaway or TEE. I love this club!!!

I only have good things to say. I was going to go with a 17* hybrid - but after I hit the V2 5W I think I'm going to keep it in the bag. Both my FWs are great clubs.

Depending on what the G15 turns out to be, I might be bagging the Rapture V2.

The rapture is long and forgiving but a bit "hollow" in feel imo.

Haven't hit the fairway woods yet BUT the driver rocks!!! Played with a mini tour gal alst week who had the stiff blueboard in 10.5* V2 head and she was killing it. I know her and she let me hit it 4 times........... and........I know I'll get balsted for this comment on here BUT the fact is I hit that combo 20+ yards further than my Sumo 5000 with stock stiff all 4 times! I kow once may be luck but 4 times in row, guessing not luck but maybe real deal? I will be demoing that ASAP, anybody else have this experience? Anyone can compare distance and forgiveness to 09 Burner or 09 Launcher?

I love my G10 9 degree driver with the prolaunch red stiff shaft. That being said, I ordered a Rapture V2 driver - 9 degree head digitally lofted to 10.5 degrees (apparently the 10.5 from Ping isn't actually made in a 10.5 degree loft) with a diamana BB stiff shaft. I love my G10, and I'm holding on to it for now, but from the time I spent at the range with the V2 I was a little longer and a whole lot more consistent. I'm very impressed with the V2 series. Apparently there is not a tremendous difference between the original rapture irons and the V2 version - and I hit my originals straight, so why mess with it? But the V2 driver, fairway woods and hybrids are phenomenal.

Definitely agree, since I got my strong 3 and strong 5 V2 fairways a couple of weeks ago they have shelved everything else I have (old and new).. The 3 is easily as long as an old TISI Tec 3 wood I have..

15 yards longer then my old F-speed 3 wood. I love the javln shaft in the 3 wood and hybrids
