All the XRs are meant for high handicappers. Whenever you see some Japan clubs painted with gold and silver expect to see old Asian rich guys holding them. Forged irons are for better players alright.

Edit: I ordered some Japan issue stuff from an eBay store and asked about the XR-Ball. I was told that it's one of the most popular balls played in Japan and the cost is about $63 USD. He then added that the most premium ball over there is a Dunlop that goes for $120 per dozen!

I don't care about anything else but that xr driver is a beauty . I owend 07 r7 xr driver and it was super long and sweet feeling

I belive taylormade japan introduces xr model every year and pictured xr is 08

I wonder what kind of shape 09 xr driver is going to be they are just like special edition very hard to get

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I don't plan on spending $250 for a set of clubs for a 4-year old. :)

 

BTW, I got more info on the $63 a dozen XR ball

 

The new XR is more of a distance ball, softer feel, lower spin of the tee with max distance and still good touch and feel and spin around the greens.

 

It is also a 3 piece ball featuring LDP low drag performance. It also has a newly developed Jumbo Speed Core which has great rebound and compression characteristics which contribute to its super carry.

 

The TP Black is a firmer ball with a slightly smaller core.
