I am also a satisfied customer of Pro Turn Machine. I sent in a Scotty Newport 2.5 because it just didn't have any "pop" when you looked at it from address. The other members of my regular foursome teased me mercilessly about the bland, vanilla look of my putter. Rather than seek counselling, I decided to send my putter to PTM.

 

When the package arrived from Jerry (Jerry is the name of my UPS driver, I'm a real putter and club ho - so he sees me often) I was overwhelmed by the contents.

I spoke with the proprietor of Pro-Turn a few weeks ago and he had mentioned a certain celebrity impressionist who was too shy to contact Pro-Turn directly but had hoped to have his putter tweaked. Sadly, that celebrity impressionist passed before he would ever use his newly Pro-Turned blade, of course I am speaking of Fred Travalena.

I will eleventh the fine staff at Pro Turn Machine, those hacks at Iron Speed couldn't hold PTM's jock. About the only service they wouldn't do for me at PTM was when I wanted to convert a right handed putter to left handed. Dusty told me "dude, get a left handed putter." We still laugh about that to this day.

Strictly Golf has a Cameron machine. Of course, as he's securing your club in the machine, he'll give you the disclaimer, "I can't guarantee it won't snap, then you'll be left with a really nice paperweight." He bent my Circa without issue - no marks at all. Asleep can also speak for them, and we all know what kind of putter guy he is... See More. Really??

I have only one regret when it comes to dealing with Pro Turn Machine. They may craft the finest putters known to mankind, but it's still up to the owner to follow through on its use. Here's a little story I don't often share with dinner company...

 

Not too long ago, I vowed to shave my handicap from 2.7 to scratch. My goal was winning a regional tournament that's very near and dear to my heart. I carefully set up my kit from the driver down to the putter - with only the highest performing tools in tour trim able to earn a spot in the bag. For the flatstick, I relied on the knowledgeable wizards (and witch) from Pro Turn Machine to match my optimum forward roll numbers to my putting stroke.

 

After seven hours of grueling test protocols inside a plain, white broom closet with the latest in computer technology, motion capture photography and a pop-'em-back putting cup, my numbers revealed the putter that was an optimum fit for me. By the way, if you have an extra 75 cents on hand and require nourishment - try B6 on the vending machine. You'll know why if you visit someday. ;)

 

Without revealing too much proprietary information - the data showed that my perfect PTM putter model was an Itsy Bitsy Squareback Two Ball #6 neck flamed 009 Damascus steel Redwood Anser SeeMore C-Groove ASGI++ Crankbait bottom bouncer 35" putter. The perfect weapon for a boss of the moss. :pimpin'b****:

 

Lo and behold the day of my tournament, for some unkown reason, I decided to keep the Itsy Bitsy Squareback Two Ball #6 neck flamed 009 Damascus steel Redwood Anser SeeMore C-Groove ASGI++ Crankbait bottom bouncer 35" putter in the trunk of my sports car. After looking over the inventory in the course's pro shop, I decided to try putting in my competition round with a chunk of 2x4 attached to a yard stick with a lag screw. The duct tape grip felt just perfect for my stroke that day, so I decided to go with a gut feeling.

 

Long story short, I putted 73 times that day. I should have trusted the science instead of going with some unproven "feeling" in the pit of my stomach. I hope I get another crack at winning the Thomas "Bumpy" Rhodes Memorial Nine Hole One Man/Two Ball Scramble Glo-Ball Tournament next year. I vow to you, my golf forum community brothers and sisters, that I will definitely bag the Itsy Bitsy Squareback Two Ball #6 neck flamed 009 Damascus steel Redwood Anser SeeMore C-Groove ASGI++ Crankbait bottom bouncer 35" putter to accomplish that goal. And when I win that damn tournament, I will put the putting highlights on YouTube for all of us to share, together. As any true golf internet pretend family should.

I think my favorite part about visiting Pro Turn Machine is their practice facility. I really felt relieved after I left the area knowing that I had made the right choice.

 

 

While Dusty is a local legend, Shelley told me that he wasn't available the day I visited. Thankfully, Waylon ducked out of the shop for a second to refresh with a nice cold smoothie. We discussed what I was looking for and he was very receptive to working on my project. Mine is the third one on the left:
