711 Golf Fraud

Hello,

I am new to this site and want to warn everyone about 711 Golf. I was reading an earlier post about 711 golf. I had placed an orer with them on 28 July. Got a order confirmation and everything. The order has shown processing every since I ordered. I sent an email asking if it has shipped and never got a reply. After reading the posts on here, I googled them looking for information and saw where several people have not received their orders and could not get their emails responded to. I called my credit card company on the July 30 and reported a possible fraud. They checked into it the web site and 711 golf is a fake. The charge was linked to Bejing, china at to the airport. There was also a second charge pending. They immediatley closed the account and have reissued a new card. Luckly I caught it before any damage was done. I just wanted to warn everyone to stay clear of this company and if you have used them, call your credit card company immediatly.

Was it my thread that you were reading earlier? What happens when you try to call the phone number listed on their site? Man, I'm glad I never pulled the trigger on my order!

Good old Ebay are carrying their ads. I just followed a link from Ebay to 711's web site. Thought it looked a bit iffy so looked up 711 on here and bingo.

Slight hints are that everything ships from Hong Kong and they don't seem to be sold out of any shaft/club combination. What an inventory they must have!

OP, sorry you had a rotten experience and it was good of you to post a warning on here for everyone to see.

That's a pretty scary fake site. Middle of the pack prices, well done page, only a few grammar errors. I bet it's taking a lot of people's money. It's scary that the scammers are starting to actually price stuff right to draw the suckers in.

A: No, there is no import customs duty on all of our products. We will declare this as “GIFT”, so there will be no duty to pay.

Your thread got me wondering. What really got me was that the site said it was in stock, but it was still proccessing the order after 3 days. And also I could not get a response to my emails. Luckly it was coaught before the damage was done. Lesson learned. Like they say, if sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.

I see that their phone number and address is no longer listed (unless they moved it). I believe I posted their info in my thread... I'll check.

Thanks, that's some great information. If you hold your mouse over any of the TrustGuard boxes at the top-right of their site, it will list their address and phone number... I haven't tried calling it though...

That EMS Speedpost thing is VERY suspicious looking. It doesn't make sense that clubs manufactured in AZ would be shipping from China. When I saw the UPS logo at the top of their page, and USPS.com next to USA on the Shipping & Returns page of their site, I thought I was ok and didn't read any further.

chickenpotpie - Thanks for the kind welcome. I must admit that I actually had a hard time sleeping last night after reading that first post... stupid, I know, but thanks for clarifying... I can definitely understand. I did do a search on Peter Jones here, but came up empty... I suspected there was some sarcasm there.

jonnyc - Thanks for the 2 links. I think that puts the final nail in the coffin. Before I posted here yesterday, I did e-mail 711golf.com to see if they could customize my iron order (they only offer sets in 3i - PW + SW) since I only need 6i - SW. If they respond, and I doubt they will, I will be sure to ask for Ping serial numbers for the clubs they would be sending me. Based on what I've learned here, you can bet that I won't be hearing back from them after that.

lebanon - Thanks also for the link and the info on the membership program! I will be sure to check those out. I'm still hoping to find a good deal, but the savings will have to be pretty significant for me to NOT purchase from my local guy. I could justify purchasing somewhere else for a $700 saving, or even $200, but I would never buy somewhere else to save $100. I feel that the time my local guy spent with me and the advice he gave me is definitely worth paying a little extra.
