Best Golfing Beer

I know its like asking the best driver but

I'm researching as article and need some assistance please and thank you. What is the beer you usually get from the beer cart on the course or the 19th hole after the round. Also please if I could get what makes that particular brand your choice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, I'll owe you a beer in return for your answer. (I don't like best of questions, but hey it's a great way to start an argument, and if you ask this question in the 19th hole itself well I've noticed the polling usually ends in fisticuffs in the parking lot about 2am so I thought this would be a way to conduct the research without bloodletting) :black eye:

Bud Select. Cheap, lower in calories, and better tasting than Bud Light, Mic Ultra, or MGD 64. My league partner converted me to it from Bud Light, as well as at least 3-4 others in our league from Bud Heavy or Bud Light. I can't go back to Bud Light now....was forced to drink it a couple days ago, and couldn't believe I used to drink that stuff!

My beer of choice at the turn and after the round is Miller Chill in the summer, Guinness in the fall and spring. Miller Chill because it is great ice cold and very refreshing and doesn't weigh you down. Guinness because there is never a bad time to drink Guinness.

When playing in warm climates, I like a light lager. Something like Landshark is good (but rarely found ON the course). So, it is usually Miller Lite or Bud Lite. I drank a Heineken Light and almost threw it up (so nasty, do people really consider that stuff beer?).

If I played in cooler climates (and I wasn't walking), I would settle for something a bit darker.

Cascade Premium Light is a great beer from Tasmania Australia, Basically the best Aussie beers come from the states of Tasmania, Victoria or Western Australia and the other states can't make a beer worth drinking...

So, as far as Aussie beers are concerned- Cascade Premium Light, Cascade Premium, James Boags, Hahn Super Dry and Crown are all pretty good beers.

As for international beers, I have to say that I haven't found an American beer that I would considder drinking yet... the Europeans have a few decent beers- Stella, Becks, Hoegarten and Heiniken are all pretty good.
Asia has some good beers too, Asahi, Kirin, 333, Changi, Kingfisher, Tiger and San Miguel are all pretty good IMO.

Seeing as I never play in really cold environments it tends to be lighter beers that are my fancy, most of the more interesting ales don't suit the golf course... but that doesn't mean I don't drink them

If I can find it, a nice cold Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is incredible! If I can't find that, I'll spring for Shiner Bock or Sam Adams. It's tough to find decent craft beer in most clubhouses, though.

San Miguel is quite good, but you have to be careful when purchasing it over it. Sometimes you can get the good stuff that is bottled in Spain, but most of the time it is the stuff bottled in the Phillipines. I think the Phillipines version tastes a bit like a skunk beer.

Mainly just cold beer. If I'm somewhere where Labatt Blue is sold, I buy it up. Where I live now, it's a high end import beer. I tend to buy the 16 oz cans at the gas station on the way to the course, usually bud light or natty light. I get the 16oz cans because they're cheaper than the 12 oz ones (about $0.75 less for a 6 pack). It's one of those mysteries of the universe.

The lighter the better. I cannot drink heavy beer while golfing. Maybe MGD 64 or Miller/Budlight Chill.

Most definitely a light beer. I have been drinking the Mich. Ultra as of lately( 16oz cans for $.50 out the door at my local course).

The price shocked me too when I went to grab a 6 pack for after the round. As long as that deal stays there I am going to keep drinking it! (I normally drink Miller Lite/Budweiser when I am not on the course)

$0.50 for a can of beer?

Most of the beer I drink comes in 330ml bottles and costs $4AUD per can give or take.

At my home club it is more like $7 a bottle...

I've never even thought it possible to buy a beer for $0.50! I'm living in the wrong country to drink booze... :P

I don't drink during the round for the most part aside from maybe a bloody mary when I play early in the morning. After the round though, my choice would be either a Beck's Dark, Yeungling Lager, or a Harp depending on availability.

Yes, I usually don't drink while golfing or skiing. I have had a Bud Light on occasion....especially if someone insists on buying. Afterwards now my beer of choice is Stella Artois. But there are MANY good beers out there. We have some local brews I like and Sam Adams is always good. For Mexican beer I like Bohemia.

Thanks for the input. it's appreciated. 50 cent for a beer seems as outrageous as $7 but in a much better way. I saw the Texas Rangers ballpark charges 39 cents per ounce for a 20 ounce beer. That's crazier than $5 for a pack of cigarettes. Of course I remember when you could get a Titleist Balata for $1.25 too so there is that aspect to deal with.

Coors Light for me without a doubt. It has that crisp, refreshing bite to it that makes the course that much more enjoyable.
