Ridiculous Work......!

Here is the beat up Pro Plat 99 (original edition) w/crown on face I picked up for a song... I hoped it was restorable and I was right... I was told it was in such bad condition to send it to custom shop by other reputable refinishers on the site to see if it could be done...

Here are the magnificent results.... I went with white/purple/gold paintfill since I love the Tigers....!

Here are the after shots... sorry the pics aren't better... kinda snapped them quick but putter is flawless... not a dent, ding, mark.... flawless..... don't know how they got all the gouges, pits out of the face, flange, hosel but they did...

Did you pick up that Mid Slant from a fellow board member? It looks very familiar to one that I almost picked up from some one on the board.

That putter looks very nice. I have a Mil Spec that I need to send in for a spa treatment.

Just curious, you mentioned that you went with the LSU color scheme of purple and gold. When you described what you wanted in the colors, did you tell them you wanted "purple and gold like LSU" or something to that effect? I'm asking because I'm thinking about having mine sent in to the custom shop to have a Tennessee color scheme applied but I want to make sure they get the right color orange (insert TN Vols orange joke here).

Only lost about 5 grams I think which is pretty much UNBELIEVABLE... unless they sent me another putter...:-)

Picked it up at a PGA Superstore on a whim when I grabbed it to see what a Pro Platinum & I was intrigued by the crown on the face (had never seen that before) The feel blew me away and but the clincher was I started rolling everything in the hole.... I had visions of grandeur on restoring it......even though it looked like someone had dragged it behind their car.......

I then made them a low ball offer (which they took) on the chance it could be refinished.... It also helped knowing I could return it within 30 days for store credit....

Well it all worked out.... and so far I'm still rolling them in the cup.... hope the honeymoon lasts...

I think this putter found me.....

in some cases I bet it'd be cheaper for them to replace rather than repair, and I wonder if they do that

I agree -- it seems like it would be more efficient to replace the putter head vs. all the expense on labor repairing it. If that is a real repair job, then that's fantastic.

I can't speak for other companies that refurb/refinish. But the Studio does AMAZING work. i bought a beat up studio design 1, that was pretty beat up and came back absolutly perfect.

no surprise to me that were able to do what they did with yours, congrats! :-) It's a beautiful.

if it were my business i would be replacing the head. it would be much more labor intensive to repair the head...

My Laguna 2.5 turned out perfect as well. I bought a very beat up one from ebay and sent it back for the $145 and they refinished it, reshafted it, regripped it (new grip), and put a new headcover on it. That was like 4 years ago. Wish I had took pics! To bad it almost looks like it did when I bought it now after 4 years of golf. Lost the headcover about 6 months in. I ll prob send it back again.
