Yururi: Have the Serious Quality Control Issues Been Resolved?

based upon Tourspecgolf forum
A while back I was considering purchasing some Yururi wedges from Tourspecgolf. Frankly, I was initially interested in Yururi wedges because they look so cool, but I wanted to see if it was just a wedge with cool cosmetics but lousy quality. Like a car or other gear, I will admit to being a sucker for looks, but while I am a sucker, I still won't buy anything unless it is also a quality product. So, quality/performance is by far the biggest consideration for me, but I will admit looks are a bit of a factor as well.

So, I started doing some background research on the brand and reading feedback from owners to follow up on performance/quality. On the Tourspecgolf forums, the owner of Tourspec golf provided a very honest (refreshingly honest) take on Yururi, and advised his customers to look elsewhere. As a side note, I really like the tourspecgolf website and appreciate a site with an owner that is active in getting information out to his customers- good and bad, not simply advising his customers to buy anything he sells.

Here is the owner's post from earlier this year:

http://www.tourspecgolf.com/forum/t28370.h...ded#entry155431

The issues mentioned are very disturbing, and as a result, I crossed Yururi off my list and I found other wedges that I am very happy with.

It looks like Yururi had, at least at one time, been removed from tourspecgolf (I am assuming because of the serious QC issues), but as of today, tourspec is selling a number of Yururi wedge models.

I am not in the market for wedges anymore, but for future reference, does anyone know if Yururi has fixed its quality control problems?
I don't think quality was really the issue. It was more like consistency.

Two wedges didn't always come out the same. I believe that these issues have been resolved.
I am not sure I appreciate the difference between a "consistency" problem and a "quality" problem. Not trying to be argumentative here, just honestly don't appreciate the nuance here.

Lofts, grooves randomly out of spec, etc., that seems like a quality issue to me. The Tourspec owner made it sound like getting a properly made Yururi was a total crap shoot.

You can argue your point of view. No problem. Doesn't really matter to me.

What I'm saying is,

The quality of the product was never in doubt. Good forgings, well made. The problem was having grinds, stampings and such be consistent from batch to batch. That is a consistency problem. Because a grind is different doesn't mean it is a bad grind, not consistent. If that is a quality problem in your book then so be it.

I'm not saying they are good or bad. I do know that they have improved upon what they were doing in regards to uniformity.

I agree on the term "uniformity". I have a bunch of Yururi products and they all have been first rate, including being DEAD on spec. If you want to talk about inconsistency, check out Geotech.... ;)

Completely splitting hairs at this point, but as someone who's professional work has been in the field of quality, uniformity is a key indicator of quality. All products vary to some degree, but if you can't control your output to within your customer's specifications (and tolerances), you've got a quality problem.

That doesn't mean that the raw materials, process, or people doing the work are bad, it only means that your process is out of control and needs to be fixed. All quality problems don't result in an unusable item - most end up with something that differs in form, fit, or function from accepted design specifications, tolerances, and customer expectations. Some level of reject work is always expected, but that work should never make it to your customers.

Consistency, uniformity, quality - they're all completely related.
